Ireland have flipped the way they play and they are looking for those offloads. They really come to life when there are tired bodies.

Sometimes stats completely lie but this time, they do tell the story of the half.

The game has been played mostly in the Welsh half as Ireland dominate with their physicality ensuring they break tackles and make more metres with every carry.

The scoreline could be even more emphatic if it wasn't for all those early handling errors by Ireland.

If they can make those passes stick, they could really wrap up this match.

The Irish try just before half-time is what Sean Lynn calls "championship points".

Wales did exactly the same out in Brive last weekend and it took the game away from them.

The first score in the second half will be crucial for Wales' hopes of a comeback.

It's been a good 40 minutes, we just haven't executed how we would have wanted to. We'll want to come out firing in the second half.

That's a massive moment for Ireland. To score right before the break is huge, but even more so being a player down.

Dorothy Wall try, Enya Breen con

Ireland may be down a player but they've extended their lead on the stroke of half-time with a third try.

That was all about the power of the Irish forwards who just kept breaking tackles with every tackle.

Breen converts with O'Brien in the sin bin.

Great break by Carys Cox who exposes the gap that has just been left by O'Brien's yellow card.

The Wales wing gallops through but great work by centre Aoife Dalton not only prevents Wales getting quick ball but wins a penalty.

    Big turnover.

They have got to start the second half without O'Brien too. That can have real significance.

  17. Sin-bin: Dannah O'Brien (Ireland)published at 37 mins

    Wales 7-14 Ireland

Ireland's fly-half is shown a yellow card for a high tackle on Alex Callender as the Wales back-row broke from the back of a scrum.

O'Brien's shoulder struck Callender's face so she's in the sin bin and the tackle will be reviewed.

    Could be a red?

    Ooh tight call.

Ireland kicked a penalty to the corner but Neve Jones' throw strays off the straight line and Wales will get a scrum to clear the danger.

Jasmine Joyce is the smallest player on the pitch, yet whenever she scoops the full up from full-back, she seems to make a b-line for the biggest player on the pitch in Ireland prop Linda Djougang.

It would be great to see her in some space.
