The prop was dipping but there's definitely head contact.

The South African fans are doing their best to get Carter carded with shouts every time the replay is shown.

It's great for someone like Erasmus when he can bring players like Malherbe on to the pitch.

He's strong, he's big, and he's one of the best scrummagers in the world.

    Jordan Hendrikse

The two new boys in the front row bring fresh energy to the scrum and South Africa get the penalty.

Hendrikse thumps over the three points and suddenly the Springboks are back to 11 points ahead.

Disappointing start to the second half for Wales.

It comes from an exit kick from Faf de Klerk.

They re-gather it through Eben Etzebeth and go 40 metres upfield, one ruck in the middle of the field, and Mapimpi's in in the corner.

It's a brilliant try from South Africa.

But was that last pass forward? I'm not certain it was a try.

Well they won't with defending like that!

Mapimpi flies over just 88 seconds into the second half but Cam Winnett was caught horribly flat-footed then.

He got sucked in by Jesse Kriel but there was no need because Grady had his man.

The Wales full-back was beaten by one pass and Mapimpi had an easy finish.

It's a different story for Lake's Ospreys clubmate and fellow hooker Sam Parry.

A story emerged last night of how he walked out of the Wales camp this week after reportedly feeling "disrespected" by Warren Gatland.

The Wales coach has been talking about the development.

Gatland told S4C: "You will need to talk to Sam but I need to say my door is always open for any conversations.

When asked about the disrespect claims, Gatland added: "I didn't see anything where he has actually said anything.

"You need to talk to him, my door is always open in terms of having a discussion with any players in the squad if they have any feelings or need anything clarified.

"We were very clear in discussions with him earlier in the week when he came into the squad.

"If he wants to reach out I am more than happy to talk to him."

He's (Dewi Lake) very old fashioned, he won't mind who he's up against.

I like people like Dewi Lake because every time they're out on the pitch, they want to win.

I look at Lake, he's very confident in his own talents and he feels he can compete with anyone.

If the Lions team was being picked tomorrow, I feel Dewi Lake at his best would be in the mix.

Dewi Lake has been outstanding in this first half.

The skipper spoke in the week of how much he loves fronting up to the Boks and he has led the comeback.

It was looking worrying for Wales but Lake has galvanised his team who are mixing it up with the world champs.

Wales will be very happy with that first half.

Wales have battled hard and shown a lot of pride and skill to stay in the game.

It's great to see them just one point down at half time.

    South Africa 14-13 Wales

And that's that... somehow Wales are only a point behind.

Who would have thought that when they conceded two tries and two yellow cards in the opening 15 minutes.

    They've recovered superbly well.

  20. Replacement: Walespublished at 40 mins

    South Africa 14-13 Wales

Keiron Assiratti hobbles off and is replaced by Harri O'Connor.

Wales would have hoped to get him to half-time but there's no way he can hold up this scrum that has been awarded.

Wales will really be hoping it's not serious with Henry Thomas pulling out this week and concerns over Dillon Lewis.

Assiratti will be important for the summer tour.
