The weather had a significant bearing on the game, it was difficult to retain the ball. The Lions like to pass wide. They tried to do that in the second half which ultimately led to the Jorgensen try, it was a poor tactic.

They tried to kick, but it was done poorly, they tried to contest the ball but not very well.

There was definitely a difference in the way Australia prepared for this game, Nic White really led and controlled this game.

Those big powerful runners that we didn’t see in the first Test, we saw some last week and saw more this week.

And what could've been if not for that very slow start, they'll be kicking themselves.

Australia played the conditions much better and it makes you think what would have happened if the Wallabies hadn't started so slowly in Brisbane.

The Wallabies won four out of the six halves of rugby, and on what was meant to be a history making night for the Lions the tourists were well beaten. The chat all week was about the Lions joining the greats of 1974 and 1927 but in the end that all that fizzled out in the Sydney monsoon.

  3. 'I am so proud of the team'published at 14:15 British Summer Time 2 August

Australia captain Harry Wilson, speaking to Sky Sports: "I am so proud of the team, we were hurting but it is something to be proud of.

"It means so much to us when you have this many people supporting you, you have no reason to come out here and have pride in the jersey and try to win.

"It's a good bit of momentum to go into the Rugby Championship."

On Nic White's last Test game for Australia: "I am so happy that he got to finish his Test career like that. He is so important to our group, he keeps us accountable and he loves a beer. He is a great team-mate."

Lions captain Maro Itoje, speaking to Sky Sports: "I would like to say thank you to Rugby Australia, it is a massive privilege to tour this great nation, thank you to our support staff, you have been amazing and I would like to say a massive thank you to the sea of red from our first game to today, you have been sensational."

    British and Irish Lions

British and Irish Lions head coach Andy Farrell, speaking to Sky Sports: "I can't wait to get in and say what I need to say. We should be unbelievably proud of what we achieved. Lions tours are tough. On reflection after tonight we will reflect positively.

"The coaching staff have been great and we created a special memory together."

  10. 'It's just not what we wanted tonight and it leaves a sour taste'published at 13:54 British Summer Time 2 August

Dan Sheehan said to Sky Sports: "It's gutting to be honest. The aim of the tour was a 3-0 victory but fair play to the Wallabies.

"What a series against Australia. Every game has been close."

When the lightning strike happened? "I have never experienced anything like that. We were loving it in the changing room and we thought we we were in a really good position.

"It is disappointing especially in front of the amount of people who have travelled here to support us.

"It's just not what we wanted tonight and it leaves a sour taste.

"We have already organised to come back in 12 years as a reunion, it's been a one of a kind journey for me."

Poorest Lions Test performance since the first Test in 2005. Line-out disaster. Errors aplenty. Would've been 3-0 at normal standards.

Huge credit to Australia for their resilience in this game - worthy winners! But how many line-outs did the Lions lose in that game? Pretty disappointing…

Australia led for 76 minutes last week and they're on course to have led for 74 today.

While it's not series defining, the Lions lose a line-out in the same stadium Wallaby Justin Harrison pulled off his crucial steal back in 2001 as the lock watches on from the touchline.

The Lions line-out has gone completely to pot in this second half and what could have been a history-making night has fizzled out in the Sydney monsoon.

But in their national stadium this is Australia's day. They have been magnificent and after the performance in Melbourne they have backed it up and shown there is plenty of life in Wallaby rugby.
