When Argentina were here in November, they never led in a 22-19 defeat by Ireland.

Well, you have to say the Pumas are full value for their half-time advantage here.

Felipe Contepomi's side were sharp with the ball and Oviedo really caught the eye.

Three Connacht players in the matchday squad today. An incredible achievement for an underrated province! Ulster are the new 'fourth province'.

We often complain at the referee but my word the TMO has made three calls to review and none of them have amounted to anything. TMO has slowed the game down more than anyone tonight.

Meanwhile some of Argentina's attack has been immaculate.

Despite the scoreline, that was a very enjoyable half of rugby.

Let's hope the rest of the Lions' summer is as fun to watch.

RE Danny @20:33 - this isn't a centre partnership against Australia because both usually play inside centre and one of them will win the 12 jersey and have either Ringrose or Jones outside him.

With the fans on one side of the ground bathed in beautiful evening sunshine and with almost every Lions fan in here wearing red, it's an absolutely glorious scene.

The first half is how you’d expect it to be from the Lions. Lots of energy and plenty of hard work and endeavour, with the final pass not quite there - but not expecting that in the first game.

Let’s not forget Argentina are ranked higher than Australia in the world rankings.

Ten points for Argentina in the final 60 seconds of the half. A big, big swing.

    Wow. That's a massive score!

It's so scrappy all round but the Pumas pinch the ball in their own 22 and come flying clear.

Rodrigo Isgro brings it down the touchline and it's a two-on-one against Marcus Smith, and Albornoz is there on the end of it to race under the posts.

The fly-half then sends over the conversion.

Fin Smith has been the stand out player for Lions this first half, looks a class act!

It's the easiest kick of the day for the fly-half and he extends Argentina's lead.

We'll just have time for a restart with 35 seconds on the clock.

Pablo Matera is brought down just short! So close to a second Argentina try.

Play is brought back for a penalty, but that was huge defence by Tuipultou to keep the Pumas out.

It's kicked through again and Marcus Smith is forced into giving away a five-metre scrum by carrying the ball across his own line before he's swallowed up.

Big chance as we edge towards the break.

Argentina have a great platform as Santiago Carreras lands a 50/22 which bobbles just the right side of the line.

It's for a clearout by Joel Sclavi on Morgan as he got his hands on the ball.

The Lions won the penalty anyway, so nothing changes.

On the topic of Jac Morgan, he gets over the ball at a ruck and wins the penalty for the Lions.
