Ireland win the throw and are chipping away at the French line.

This has been some start, but with no reward so far.

The official stats showed 38 French tackles there before Ireland made their first.

Les Bleus were living dangerously and skirting the offside line throughout as they attacked Irish rucks.

They'll have been delighted, though, to force the hosts back and have them settle for a shot of goal...even more so when Prendergast's effort cannoned back off the post.

Could we be looking back at that later?

There's so many threats for France over the ball.

Naughty, naughty Antoine Dupont. He slaps the ball out of Jamison Gibson-Park's hands before the Irish nine had fully got his hands on it.

Sam Prendergast sends it deep into the French 22. This is a great position.

Calvin Nash didn't look like a man starting at 15 minutes' notice there, anyway.

That aerial take will be a great settler for any nerves.

France think they are away upfield but play is brought back for a knock on in the tackle.

There's some concern for Bundee Aki, who got a stud in the face as he tried to make a tackle, but he's a tough cookie and will continue.

Right, that's the tone set nicely.

Peter O'Mahony, arm in arm with Conor Murray, also had some tears in his eyes.

It means a lot to all of them, but especially O'Mahony, Murray and Healy this afternoon.

No-one can seem to call this game it's so close. There are nerves but there's a window for this Ireland team. Everyone is watching this game in Ireland and it's a great opportunity to attract young boys and girls to this sport.
