  1. A big reliefpublished at 10:49 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 9-9 Jones

    Ken Doherty
1997 world champion on BBC Two

Jones is very nervous but he'll be very relieved to win that frame.

He holds himself well under pressure and floats the balls in a bit like another Welshman Mark Williams. He has so much confidence in his cue action and he took the frame ball very nicely.

  2. All square againpublished at 10:47 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 9-9 Jones

But Stuart Bingham has missed a long yellow and Jak Jones is about to draw level. He clears up to the pink and Bingham concedes the frame.

    We're level again.

  3. Double trouble for Jonespublished at 10:44 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 9-8 Jones

A brilliant back double keeps Stuart Bingham's break alive.

He's 13 behind with just the colours ahead, but has to play safe. This is getting edgy.

Jak Jones could, and maybe should, have been level by now.

  4. 'A bit of tension'published at 10:40 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 9-8 Jones

    Dennis Taylor
1985 world champion on BBC Two

That's an amazing fluke. Jak is flexing his right arm which is an indication he's a bit tight. It's understandable that there's a bit of tension early in this session.

  5. How's your luck?published at 10:39 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 9-8 Jones

Fluke of the match? An outrageous red into the middle pocket keeps the break alive. But not for long.

Jones leaves the table with a 45-point advantage.

Stuart Bingham could pinch this for a two-frame lead...

  6. Postpublished at 10:38 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 9-8 Jones

Dennis Taylor sums it up perfectly. An awful safety attempt by Stuart Bingham and Jak Jones is back in. A great chance, but he's left himself a tough pink to keep the break going.

He's 38 to the good as things stand.

A wonderful pressure pot does keep the break going.

  7. 'What's he done here?'published at 10:35 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 9-8 Jones

    Dennis Taylor
1985 world champion on BBC Two

What's he done here? That's probably the worst safety shot Stuart Bingham has ever played. How has he left that short?

  8. Jones in troublepublished at 10:34 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 9-8 Jones

This will help Jak Jones' nerves. A chance to hit back immediately.

A good red here to develop the pack and this could be a frame-winning visit.

But it's all gone wrong and he fouls on the black after the pot. That's unfortunate.

Jones is in trouble (see below). Two successive seven-point fouls trying to get of his own snooker.

  9. A little bit nervous?published at 10:27 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 9-8 Jones

    Ken Doherty
1997 world champion on BBC Two

Jak Jones looked a little bit nervous in that frame.

His composure, temperament has been really impressive, almost unflappable, like he welcomes the challenge. But someone who has never played the one-table set-up is bound to get nervous at some stage.

  10. First blood to Binghampublished at 10:24 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 9-8 Jones

Bingham sinks the pink for a 65-point lead. The frame is in the bag, surely?

Yep, Jones needs two snookers and concedes the frame after letting Bingham in again.

  11. Looking goodpublished at 10:22 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 8-8 Jones

Stuart Bingham, the 2015 champion, looks very comfortable out there.

He should do. This is his 18th Crucible appearance. He made his debut in 2000 and has 52 Crucible centuries to his name.

He's 59 in front and there are 59 left on the table.

  12. Postpublished at 10:21 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 8-8 Jones

Stuart Bingham's break moves past the 50 mark. But he fluffs a long ball after losing the cue ball (not literally).

A reprieve for Jak Jones but he misses a red and Bingham is back in play.

  13. 'Beautifully poised' semi-finalpublished at 10:18 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 8-8 Jones

    Ken Doherty
1997 world champion on BBC Two

Two sessions can get very tiring if frames go quite long. Stuart will want to be a little bit more assertive, his long ball potting wasn't up to scratch yesterday.

Anything that has been thrown at Jak Jones he's dealt with but the nerves are bound to happen for him at some point.

It's beautifully poised but someone will want a lead going into the evening session.

  14. An opportunity for Binghampublished at 10:17 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 8-8 Jones

It is advantage Stuart Bingham. Jak Jones fouls and Bingham is in. A great chance to wrap up the opening frame in one visit.

  15. Advantage Bingham?published at 10:14 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 8-8 Jones

The reds are already spread out invitingly after the early exchanges.

    First red could be crucial.

And Stuart Bingham is first to show with a lovely long pot. But he has to play safe.

Jak Jones could be in a spot of bother though.

  16. And off we go..published at 10:10 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 8-8 Jones

Both players are in the arena. They shake hands and Jak Jones breaks off.

  17. Semi-final Saturdaypublished at 10:09 British Summer Time 4 May

    Kyren WilsonImage source, PA Media

Jak Jones and Stuart Bingham are first up, But after that, Kyren Wilson and Dave Gilbert will play to a finish in the afternoon session.

Wilson has a significant advantage after last night's action. Here's how our man at the Crucible, Steve Sutcliffe, saw it...

The Warrior produced a clinical display of potting to open up a 14-10 lead over David Gilbert in their World Championship semi-final.

Having resumed at 8-8, both players compiled half-century breaks in a continuation of a fiercely contested and high-quality affair, in front of a capacity crowd at the Crucible Theatre.

World number 12 Wilson then pulled clear with breaks of 93, 51 and 88 as he punished uncharacteristic errors from his opponent to win five consecutive frames before Gilbert replied with a superb 101.

Their best-of-33 encounter will be played to a conclusion on Saturday from 14:30 BST.
