Jak Jones had some very good chances in that frame and over-hit a couple or quit on the shot.

These are things that happen at the Crucible but Kyren Wilson won't mind, he's two from the title.

It seemed straightforward but Kyren Wilson took his time over it all to make sure.

Jak Jones has it all to do now. The 'Warrior' needs just two more frames to be crowned world champion for the first time.

Jones escapes the snooker at the second time of asking but leaves the red on and this could be the beginning of the end.

Not much in terms of statistics that I can give Jak Jones fans to cling on to this evening I am afraid.

For the Welshman to triumph tonight it will take the biggest comeback in a final session of a Crucible final.

Both Stephen Hendry v Jimmy White (1992) and Mark Williams (2000) against Matthew Stevens have fought back from a slightly bigger deficit (12-6) to win but not at this stage of proceedings.

Kyren Wilson has nudged ahead in this frame - and he plays a brilliant shot to develop the last red in potting the penultimate one... but the red goes safe onto the opposite cushion.

Wilson tries to redevelop it in potting the blue but the cue ball crashes off the jaw of middle pocket instead.

Couple pieces of misfortune. He has to play safe on that red, 14 points to the good.

Lee Allen: It's fine margins but Jak Jones missing easy balls & losing the last frames of last night and this afternoon - both he should've won - might have put the game out of reach for him.

And he could lose this one via similar means...

But he misses a pink to the middle - very similar to a yellow that cost him a frame this afternoon.

Back comes Kyren Wilson to the table, 30 points behind but with a big chance to overhaul that deficit.

Wilson escapes with a 'hit and hope' smash but he leaves a pottable red that Jak Jones knocks in.

A fantastic cut on the black follows and this opening frame of the evening is at the Welshman's mercy.

The way the reds are spread it looks nigh on impossible to get this safe.

Nope, the 'Warrior' plays safe.

But Jak Jones responds with a decent safety, albeit he's very lucky the cue ball lands right behind the yellow. Trouble for Wilson, who already trails by 21 points.

And the nerves continue.

Jak Jones misses the sort of long red he'd expect to pot.

It leaves Kyren Wilson a red to middle - but he loses position straight away in potting it... unless he fancies a risky green.
