Both of them are on the floor. You count to 10 and who can get up before the 10. They've been really, really nervous. You can feel for both of them but somebody has to make the last mistake.

So disappointing for Jak Jones, who looked as if he was going to get right back in it but just missed a few easy pots.

    Wilson 15-10 Jones

Kyren Wilson takes the last frame of the afternoon to share the session 4-4.

He was twice pegged back to within three frames by Jak Jones but will resume tonight with a five-frame lead.

    Wilson 14-10 Jones

A real attacking shot from Jak Jones to develop a red in potting another.

It means the reds are all there... but he misses the yellow to middle and that will be that. Kyren cannot miss from here.

Jones comes to the table trailing by 50 points. Can he hold himself together to get back into the frame?

This frame, which was big at the start of it, has just taken on something seismic.

  8. Wilson cannot capitalisepublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 6 May

    Wilson 14-10 Jones

Kyren Wilson taking his time to line up every shot - but a poor positional shot leaves a tougher blue than he should have.

He gets it but cannot recover prime position and misses the next red, one he would usually get.

  9. 'Jones can't believe it'published at 15:50 British Summer Time 6 May

    Wilson 14-10 Jones

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

Jak is talking to himself in his chair, shaking his head.

He can't believe he's missed a black off the spot like that. I know there's huge pressure out there but you just can't miss those.

    Wilson 14-10 Jones

Jak Jones pots a good long red - one he'd expect to get but difficult in the circumstances.

Then he misses a black off the spot and turns away in a mixture of disappointment, disbelief and disgust.

He can't take it, no, JV.

A break of 32 does at least give Kyren Wilson the upper hand in this crucial final frame of the session but he misses a red to middle to bring the visit to a halt.

It was a long way off and Kyren isn't having to work for his chances.

He knows the importance of this frame. This is a good chance, can he take it?

    Wilson 14-10 Jones

Jak Jones is left a testing long red, potentially an all-or-nothing kind of pot.

And he cues across it badly, presenting Kyren Wilson with a big chance to move 15-10 ahead.

    Wilson 14-10 Jones

Jak Jones produces an absolute thunderbolt of a pot on the red - but he hits it too well, as the snooker cliche goes.

Because the immense screw on the cue ball takes it back into baulk and right on the cushion. Safety the only option.

Kyren knows if he can win this last frame, he will be in a fantastic position.

If he can get out 4-4 in this session, then Jak Jones has to win 8-2 tonight - that will be tough.

  16. 'One of most important breaks of final'published at 15:37 British Summer Time 6 May

    John Parrott
1991 world champion on BBC Two

That was an absolutely class break - one of the most important of the final.

Superb, he kept the cue ball under control and never looked like missing at any point.

He's been teetering for a couple of frames and then all of a sudden he comes back with that.

  18. 'Relieved to stopped mini-onslaught'published at 15:34 British Summer Time 6 May

    Wilson 13-10 Jones

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

He's going to be very relieved, Kyren, to have stopped the mini-onslaught from his opponent.

He will have, at least, a three-frame lead heading into tonight's final session - and if he wins the next frame, he will be a very heavy favourite to win his first World title.

The next frame is, possibly, Jak Jones' last chance. It would be hard to see him winning from 15-10.

Finally, an error-free visit from Kyren Wilson, though. He's going to restore a four-frame advantage.

Now then, only 12 months ago we saw Luca Brecel win 11 frames in a row during the greatest-ever Crucible comeback as he beat Si Jiahui 17-15 to reach a World Championship final.

We are clearly not in that territory here but Jak Jones got under way today needing to make the biggest final-day comeback in Crucible history to triumph.

At the moment it feels like all bets are off. Both players are making uncharacteristic errors that only really seem to happen in the intense environs of this enormous final.
