James Felton: If Jak Jones wins today, surely one of the greatest Crucible victories ever?
Wilson 11-6 Jones
Some composed potting and positional play has Jak Jones in front in this opening frame of the session.
He runs slightly astray on a red but a good recovery pot gets things back on track.

Jak Jones has such a lovely cue action, he caresses the snooker balls, doesn't hit them with too much pace, never hits the ball too hard.
He has a lovely touch the way he goes about his breaks.

Four reds and four blacks get Kyren Wilson up to 32 but an ill-judged cannon into the pack leaves him no alternative than to play safe.
But it's not the best safety and Jak Jones picks out a brilliant long red at the back of the pack and cuts it in. The green follows and a great opportunity to reap the rewards of that fine red.

The problem with having a huge lead, though you love to have one, is that you mustn't go into 'protect' mode and look over your shoulder.
You know full well the other guy has nothing to lose - and if you start to play not the way you started the match off, all of a sudden things can go wrong.

So many frames in this final, a long red has been left in a pottable position to the left side of the table from the break-off shot.
It's the same again from Kyren Wilson's initial shot - and Jak Jones bangs it in to a loud roar from the crowd. But then he misses a testing blue to a baulk corner pocket.
Wilson in - and a great chance.

You could hear the roar for both players when they entered the arena, even deep in the bowels of the Crucible.
The atmosphere is absolutely electric.
Wilson 11-6 Jones
Bit of a change to the entrances today as the players emerge through the crowd to a typically wonderful ovation from the Crucible audience.
Jak Jones, in particular, seemed to be drinking it all in. He'll have been nervous yesterday but he's settled into the final now. Question is: Has he left himself too much to do?

At 7-0 we thought, 'is this final going to be over a session early?'
Has Jak Jones run his race? But then we had last night and he's back in it.
Nobody wants an 18-3 final - we want a final with two players involved and that's why the crowd got right behind Jak last night.

"It's a miracle that I'm still in it as I played shocking [this afternoon]," Jak Jones admitted to BBC Two after his evening fightback.
"But I'm still in the match.
"If I had a decent night's sleep last night I think I could probably have done something today, it could have been different.
"Get a good night's sleep, come out flying tomorrow and things could happen."

This little theatre is a melting pot of emotion that distils sporting drama like no other venue. It's doing so again.
Yesterday the optics did not look good for Jak Jones, the 200-1 shot as Kyren Wilson got off to the best start in any final for over 30 years.
But the Welsh qualifier did not yield. There is life in this final alright. And at the end of it, a brand new champion will come sharply into focus.

"It's not all about the scoreline, it's about how the frame was won and there was obviously a lot of tension in there," said Kyren Wilson after that mammoth final frame of the session on Sunday night.
"I'm proud of the way I held it together. I had in my head I wanted to get to 11 tonight having been on seven (after the afternoon session). Target achieved.
"I've scored pretty well. I'm just loving every minute out there. The atmosphere is fantastic. I'm very blessed and grateful I've been able to experience this in front of a packed house, having been robbed of that through Covid (in the 2020 final)."

The final frame last night provided the sort of drama only the Crucible can.
A thrilling, tension-filled battle on the black ball ultimately went the way of Kyren Wilson.
Which means he resumes today with a five-frame advantage rather than three.

Frank Crisp: Didn’t have a preference who won but all the fist pumping from Wilson... now definitely want Jones to win.

Kyren Wilson holds an 11-6 lead after a Jak Jones fightback on day one of the World Championship final at the Crucible Theatre.
Having trailed 7-1 from the opening session, Jones found his rhythm and compiled four half-centuries as he won five of Sunday evening’s nine frames.
While Wilson was unable to maintain the scintillating form he exhibited in the early part of the match, he still made superb breaks of 125, 60 and 122.
The world number 12 also crucially clinched a potentially pivotal 17th frame when both players had chances to pot the final black, celebrating emotionally with a fist pump as he left the auditorium.

A space on this exclusive list remains to be filled.
In just a few hours' time, we'll know whether it's Kyren Wilson or Jak Jones who will occupy it.
Welcome back to our live text coverage of this year's World Snooker Championship final.
If it's anything like yesterday's opening two sessions, it's going to be some watch.
