But the Russian fifth seed comes back with some great work at the net, stretching to dink over a backhand volley.

He seals the game as Jannik Sinner mistimes a drop shot.

Having passed up the chance to serve out the set, Donna Vekic breaks Lulu Sun to take it that way!

It could have gone either way after Vekic's nightmare with double faults but she responds brilliantly and seals the set with the deftest of drop shots.

Three double faults to set up three break points. I can't remember seeing anything like that this late into a Slam.

You've really got to feel for Donna Vekic. Her confidence has completely drained away.

Superb deep forehand from Donna Vekic to take control of the rally and eventually save break point.

However, she really is struggling with her serve and yet another double fault gives Sun a third break opportunity.

This time she takes it as Vekic's drop shot lands in the net.

The Croat is trying to recompose herself at the change of ends but she is clearly very frustrated with herself.

Jannik Sinner will serve to start the second set, and he rattles down an ace to get the first point on the board.

Let off for Donna Vekic as Lulu Sun's returns skew into the crowd after a double fault had given the Kiwi a break point.

Oh dear, another double fault and another break point for Sun...

But the Italian top seed can't make it count as Medvedev opens up the court and eases through a forehand winner.

Jannik Sinner's serve wins him the point before he goes into the net on Daniil Medvedev's serve, before overcooking a forehand.

Medvedev then returns the favour by going long with a backhand.
