Just when you thought Alcaraz had ruined the vibe on Centre Court, Tarvet bowls back into the room to lift it.

Some serious speed from the British qualifier helps bring up more break points but, again, he can't get over the line.

A sad sigh goes around the world's most iconic court when he bats a volley out of play. It was the sun's fault.

Doubt many of the 15,000 here expected anything other than a one-sided scoreline, but they have perhaps got more entertainment than they thought.

One of the greatest wins of Cam Norrie's career and it's come on his favourite court, the number one court at Wimbledon.

The celebrations are fairly brief which is interesting, Norrie is not celebrating it like the win of his life but celebrating it like a man who has unfinished business here.

    .

One final ovation for Cameron Norrie after that brilliant, gutsy display.

The Brit does everything to stay in that first set, showing some real foot speed and deft of touch with a couple of brilliant passing shots.

But Alcaraz just won't let him by, as the Spaniard saves three break points - showing soft hands at the net with two trademark volleys before Tarvet hits wide on an overhead volley.

Ollie Tarvet is trading nicely with Carlos Alcaraz from the baseline - generally until the two-time defending champion goes boom or bust.

Neither outcome materialises in a 27-shot exchange at 0-3 30-30, though.

It allows the British qualifier to see out the hold and click his side of the scoreboard into action.

A fierce roar from Tarvet is quickly drowned out by celebratory cheers from the home crowd willing him on.

Those get louder when more break points come his way, but are quickly replaced by anguished groans as Alcaraz wriggles off the hook.
