That hold prompted a little shake of his racquet towards his team by Cam Norrie and a big cheer from the home fans as he really dug in to avoid the early break.

A much-needed confidence booster as he looks to battle back and take this second set.

  4. Bouzkova holdspublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 2 July

    *Sabalenka 3-3 Bouzkova

Still no break point opportunities yet.

Aryna Sabalenka whips a cross-court forehand past the Czech Marie Bouzkova but her next shot is out.

Bouzkova comes to the net and glances a forehand past Sabalenka as we remain on serve.

  5. Norrie holdspublished at 14:01 British Summer Time 2 July

    Norrie 4-6 2-1 Tiafoe*

Important game this. Well, they're all important, but you know what I mean.

We tick past the five-minute mark for the game with Norrie enjoying an advantage. Big deep breaths. And then a mahoosive first serve.

Tiafoe nets the return. That's a hold.

  6. Kartal holdspublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 2 July

    *Tomova 2-6 0-3 Kartal

Relentless stuff from Sonay Kartal. Viktoriya Tomova must be wondering where to go next?

The Brit looks so comfortable right now, hitting forehand winners with ease.

It's one-way traffic in this second set.

  7. Kartal breakspublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 2 July

Oh that is sensational from Sonay Kartal.

The Brit goes a break up with a quite brilliant forehand cross-court winner that finds the baseline.

  8. Deuce on Norrie's servepublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 2 July

    *Norrie 4-6 1-1 Tiafoe

    "Come on!"

Frances Tiafoe is cheering. At 40-30 he gets away with a sloppy return which only just drops in, but from there Cameron Norrie is on the back foot.

The American dominates the rally until Norrie wellies a backhand into the net.

  9. Sabalenka holdspublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 2 July

Another day, another bunch of A-listers in the Royal Box.

Among them today is American wrestler and actor John Cena. Thing is though, I can see him. (Reference for all my wrestling fans out there).

Also in there today is England manager Thomas Tuchel and former England manager Roy Hodgson. Olympic diver Tom Daley, golfer Tommy Fleetwood and Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl are also in there.

This picturesque spot on the far end of the All England Club is fast becoming Sonay Kartal’s ends.

Let’s rename Court Three, shall we?

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Kartal Korner.

The British number three loves life out here, having beat France’s Clara Burel last year and shocking Jelena Ostapenko when she returned on Monday.

Now Kartal is looking in great nick again on a court which she said she hoped to be given by Wimbledon schedulers.

  12. Tiafoe holdspublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 2 July

    *Norrie 4-6 1-1 Tiafoe

Frances Tiafoe holds to 15 with another fuss-free game.

He finishes things with a nice wide-serve-winner-combo which ends with a forehand just clipping the line. Lovely tennis.

  13. Bouzkova holdspublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 2 July

    *Sabalenka 2-2 Bouzkova

Aryna Sabalenka's drop shots have improved in recent years but this time she comes right into the net and fails to glance the ball over.

Marie Bouzkova just finds the line with a delicate shot which causes Sabalenka to slip but she gets up quickly enough before she hits into the net again and Bouzkova holds without too much fuss.

  14. Kartal holdspublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 2 July

    *Tomova 2-6 0-1 Kartal

My word, Sonay Kartal had to work for that.

Viktoriya Tomova wins four points in a row to earn advantage but the Brit bounces back to keep hold.

In the shadow of Court 12, the excitement of the Brazilian fans supporting Joao Fonseca is spilling over on to the outside courts.

His name is chanted and echoes around the surrounding area as the talented 18-year-old takes the first set against American Jenson Brooksby.

It isn’t putting women’s singles champion Barbora Krejcikova and team-mate Chan Hao-Ching off, as they close in on the first set.

  17. Sabalenka holdspublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 2 July

    Sabalenka 2-1 Bouzkova*

Aryna Sabalenka holds to 15 as we remain on serve on Centre Court.

Marie Bouzkova comes to the net and her forehand goes long as both players take a breather at the change of ends.

    .

The last time Cam Norrie was on court it was sweltering, with the sun beating down on the exposed Court 18 duirng his match with Roberto Bautista Agut.

He was out there a long time, too, as he needed four sets to see off the Spanish veteran.

It is much cooler here on Court One today thanks to the cloud cover and rain this morning, but things are not going to plan for the former British number one so far as Frances Tiafoe takes the first set.

Boom. That's the first set on Court One, too. Norrie clatters a return into the net.

  20. Focus on Tarvetpublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 2 July

Ollie Tarvet is suddenly under much more focus.

Watched on by a healthy crowd, the British wildcard is warming up for his monster clash with Carlos Alcaraz in the shadow of Centre Court.

In a couple of hours or so he will walk out in front of 15,000 people for the biggest match of his career.

Usually he plays in front of several hundred fans - albeit rowdy ones - on the US college circuit.
