The crowd sense just how big this game is.

Fellow Briton Jodie Burrage, who played and lost alongside Sonay Kartal in the women's doubles yesterday, is on her feet when she gets to advantage.

    Kartal seals the hold.

  3. Jarry holdspublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 6 July

    Jarry 3-6 2-1 Norrie*

A fairly routine hold in reply for Nicolas Jarry, who was ranked inside the world's top 20 before his well-documented health issues over the past few months.

He's down at 143 at the moment but he's poised to go back into the top 100 courtesy of his run at SW19.

  4. 'I would like to see more body serves'published at 15:25 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Kartal 6-7 (3-7) 2-4 Pavlyuchenkova

I just think Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova knows these serves are coming to her forehand. I think it is the correct tactic, but I would like to see more body serves that will just push her back behind the baseline.

At the minute, she is doing a great job of attacking these serves. I think Sonay Kartal just needs to get her serves to shoot through a little bit, they are just sitting up a tad too much.

  5. Second deucepublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Kartal 6-7 (3-7) 2-4 Pavlyuchenkova

Sonay Kartal doesn't show any nerves with a wide serve followed by a whipped forehand to the opposite side for advantage.

    Ah.

I spoke too soon. A double fault suggests Kartal is maybe a little tense.

  6. Deucepublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Kartal 6-7 (3-7) 2-4 Pavlyuchenkova

Sonay Kartal desperately needs a hold now.

The British number three leads 40-15 but a couple of unforced errors take the game to deuce.

    Pressure firmly on for Kartal.

  7. Another big win for the lucky loser?published at 15:22 British Summer Time 6 July

A view from the stands of court two

Take two on my visit to court two today, and the thunder and lightning has given way to blue skies and sunshine.

Now, where were we? This one was paused at 30-30 in the first game but it’s in full flow now as Solana Sierra bids for a place in the history books.

The Argentine, who lost in qualifying and only received a main draw place following a late withdrawal, is already the first lucky loser to reach this stage of the women’s singles at Wimbledon in the Open era.

Victory over Laura Siegemund, ranked three places lower than Sierra at 104th in the world, would make her the first lucky loser to ever reach the quarter-finals in the women’s singles at a Grand Slam.

It’s a huge opportunity for both these players - and hopefully now the weather will allow them to continue uninterrupted.

Could there be an upset on the cards in the women's doubles?

After a tense one-hour battle, defending champions Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend are a set down to 15th seeds Nicole Melichar-Martinez and Liudmila Samsonova having lost the opening set on a tie-break.

The top seeds will need to turn it around on court three if they are to avoid a third-round exit.

  9. Postpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Jarry 3-6 1-1 Norrie

    Jonathan Jurejko
BBC Sport senior tennis reporter at Wimbledon

"Cam, we love you!" is the cry from one bloke behind the media seats.

A few people laugh. Not sure why. Nothing wrong with professing your passion for your favourite tennis player.

And Norrie is still loving Court One.

This is 'vintage Norrie' - as he described his play at the French Open last month - from the British number three.

Kartal needs to continue to switch up the flight of her balls to disrupt the rhythm of Pavlyuchenkova. She is not going to be able to out-hit her.

At the moment, Pavlyuchenkova looks so at ease from the middle of the court.

  11. Pavlyuchenkova holdspublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Kartal 6-7 (3-7) 2-4 Pavlyuchenkova

Sonay Kartal is losing points when she engages with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in a battle of wills through the middle of the court.

Kartal gets some advice from her coach after trailing 15-0 and might look to employ a different approach.

Pavlyuchenkova gets a hold to 15 and for the first time in this match has a healthy scoreboard lead.

  12. 'Jarry's team has done a good job tactically'published at 15:20 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Jarry 3-6 1-1 Norrie

    Greg Rusedski
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 2 and BBC Sounds

Cameron Norrie is starting to anticipate the patterns of Nicolas Jarry and is trying to take advantage of it.

The last four serves, from deuce point to break point, Jarry went into the Norrie forehand, so he has got to start sitting on that side because his return of serve is much better on that backhand side.

Jarry's team has done a good job tactically there.

  13. Norrie holdspublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Jarry 3-6 1-1 Norrie

Beautifully done by Cameron Norrie as a deft cross-court backhand from a tight angle at the net earns the first point of the game.

That's as good as his serve in the next point is bad - very, very wide for a double fault.

But the game is Norrie's and we're all square in set two.

  14. Kartal's club WhatsApp group 'blowing up'published at 15:20 British Summer Time 6 July

    Laura Scott
BBC sports news correspondent at Wimbledon

Members of Sonay Kartal's Brighton tennis club have flocked to SW19 to watch their player.

Amir Goshtai, a member of Pavilion and Avenue Tennis Club (or "Pav and Ave") like Sonay Kartal, said it was "surreal" to see the "unassuming" 23-year-old in the fourth round.

"The club is very excited, the WhatsApp groups are all blowing up. There are a few people back there watching, I think the bar is open, so members are following really avidly," Goshtai said.

His 12-year-old son William said Kartal is his "idol".

"I like that she just stays calm and keeps it in play. Unlike [world number one Aryna] Sabalenka who just misses loads, she just keeps it in and gets it back.”

That big serve out wide gets Nicolas Jarry out of another pickle from break point down to secure the hold.

  16. 'Operator error', says All England Clubpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 6 July

The All England Club has released a short statement on the electronic line-calling system controversy in the first set of Sonay Kartal's match v Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.

"Due to operator error the system was deactivated on the point in question," said an AELTC spokesperson.

"The chair umpire followed the established process."

  17. 'Pavlyuchenkova letting out a bit of frustration'published at 15:16 British Summer Time 6 July

    Kartal 6-7 (3-7) 2-3 Pavlyuchenkova*

    Naomi Broady
British player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 2 and BBC Sounds

I think Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova was just letting out a bit of frustration from the last game or so where it looked like her purple patch had kind of ended.

She is trying to find it again and she is pushing herself to find that level.

  18. Pavlyuchenkova breakspublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 6 July

    Kartal 6-7 (3-7) 2-3 Pavlyuchenkova*

Sonay Kartal saves the first but puts wide on the next point to hand over the break.

That is the ninth break of a chaotic match.

  19. Postpublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Jarry 3-6 0-0 Norrie

Nicolas Jarry slips on the baseline as he attempts to switch direction during a rally.

15-30 on the Chilean's serve and perhaps a chance for Cameron Norrie to make an early mark in set two?

Nope - two big aces will crush the Briton's hopes of that.

But hang on - a double fault from Jarry takes us to deuce.
