Emma Navarro is a little punched out. She is taking a mental and physical breather. It looks like she is doubting herself a little bit.
Maybe that comes from not being on this stage much before.
Badosa 2-6 2-0 Navarro*
It has been a disjointed start to this set from Emma Navarro, with more mistakes in the first two games than most of the opening set and that helps Paula Badosa move into a two-game lead in the second set.
*Badosa 2-6 1-0 Navarro
A quick reset from Paula Badosa after the disappointment of losing the first set as she starts the second with a break of serve, helped by four unforced errors off the Navarro racquet.

Very impressive indeed, Emma Navarro has looked in such good form throughout the US Open. She had that landmark win against Coco Gauff in the last round.
This is only her second experience in a Grand Slam quarter-final.
She just looks like she is ready to take the next step.
Badosa 2-6 Navarro
A near-perfect set for American Emma Navarro. She got the break in game two, and gets another one in game eight, meaning she will serve first in the second set too.
Badosa made two double faults in the eighth game, before Navarro's fine cross-court forehand winner gave her three set points.
The Spaniard saved two of them but then drifted a drop shot wide.

Paula Badosa missed two forehands into the net. She shouldn't make that mistake, she should be driving through the ball.
That was a big game to lose, that could have been a pivotal change in this match.
*Badosa 2-5 Navarro
Paula Badosa had two chances to break the Navarro serve, but could not take either before the American took the game with a perfectly-weighted drop shot from deep.
Badosa 2-4 Navarro*
Badosa wins a thrilling 22-shot rally, after she had moved forward and dispatched a fine sweeping forehand. She screams out loudly and that gives her a break point to get things on serve, 30-40.
Badosa 2-4 Navarro*
Badosa registers her third ace of the match and will need more of that if she is to rescue this set, although there is still only break of serve between them.
*Badosa 1-4 Navarro
A two-handed backhand from the baseline from Badosa finds only the net and this match is moving at a rapid pace, with Navarro holding her serve to 30. Two more games and the first set is hers.

Paula Badosa needs to get more fired up.
This is going to have to be the best match she has played in a year and a half if she is to win.
Badosa 1-3 Navarro*
That will make Paula Badosa happier as she gets a game on the board, holding her serve to 15 after giving Navarro a three-game headstart.
Badosa has already made nine unforced errors though, compared to only two from Navarro.

When Paula Badosa came on to court, looked up into the sun and you could tell she knew when she tossed the ball it would be a bad time for her.
Emma Navarro didn't have any problem with it, she adjusted her toss.
But Badosa, who warmed up in the shade, wasn't able to make that adjustment.

It's a lovely sunny day in New York but that may cause the players some problems as half of the court is in shadow, half in sunlight.

Emma Navarro has swag, there is a whole demeanour about her on the court.
This is fire versus ice. Paula Badosa is going to get in your face, she is very pumped up in the way she competes. Badosa roars like a lion.
Navarro will show that passion through her play, through the way she goes after the ball.
She hits a different ball, the spin that she has on her forehand in particular is different to a lot of players on the women's side of proceedings. That will be a different look for Badosa to deal with.
Having gone three sets with Badosa this year on clay, this is a really good shot for her, with the crowd, to get across the line.
*Badosa 0-1 Navarro
Emma Navarro is the 13th seed, up against the 26th seeded Paula Badosa and it is a perfect start for the American.
A dream winner fired into the corner is the first point of the match, with Navarro holding her serve to love in lightning quick time.
