  1. Fery a break uppublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 30 June

    Popyrin 4-6 1-2 Fery*

Arthur Fery has begun the second set in the same fashion as the first.

The Brit puts Australian Alexei Popyrin under pressure again and, after some lovely net play at 15-40, breaks the 20th seed in the third game.

Popyrin struggled on his first serve in the opening set - landing around 50% - and looks to still be searching for it but Fery is taking advantage.

  2. Bautista Agut breaks and holdspublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Norrie 6-3 1-4 Bautista Agut

Cameron Norrie is broken for the first time in this match.

The British number three just couldn't hold his serve at deuce, hitting a forehand volley long to hand his opponent the advantage in this second set.

There was no chance Roberto Bautista Agut was passing up on the opportunity to go 4-1 up in the set either, with the Spaniard serving up a hold to love.

  3. Fognini holdspublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Alcaraz 0-1 Fognini

Comfortable hold for Fabio Fognini to get things started on Centre Court.

He's quickly to the net to put away a volley to win the first point of the match and when Carlos Alcaraz is unable to get a strong serve out wide back, Fognini takes the opening game to 15.

  4. Sabalenka saves break pointpublished at 13:43 British Summer Time 30 June

    Sabalenka 6-1 1-1 Branstine*

Carson Branstine gets to 0-30 on the Aryna Sabalenka serve and although the world number one quells the danger with three straight points, she is taken to deuce.

Branstine then brings up a break point, her first of the match, but that one goes begging and Sabalenka lets out a big roar as she seals the game with an ace.

    Alcaraz v Fognini

A shrug from Fabio Fognini after the toss but the outcome is that he will serve first.

The 38-year-old Italian has got his work cut out against Carlos Alcaraz, who is targeting a three-peat at Wimbledon, but he could hardly look more relaxed.

We're just about ready to go on a sun-drenched Centre Court.

    Wimbledon

Carlos Alcaraz and Fabio Fognini are miles apart in age and experience.

But, incredibly, they come into this encounter with an identical number of match wins both at Wimbledon (18 each) and at the Grand Slams overall (71 each).

You would imagine Alcaraz will go one ahead in each category today.

  7. Norrie and Bautista Agut hold servepublished at 13:37 British Summer Time 30 June

    Norrie 6-3 1-2 Bautista Agut*

A brilliant hold to love from Cameron Norrie followed by a comfortable service hold for Roberto Bautista Agut.

The British number three's left-handed volley is coming in clutch this afternoon. It is helping him to stay on top of points and attack the rallies.

The heat doesn't seem to be bothering either player at the moment, but the ice towels are out!

  8. Sabalenka dominates to take first setpublished at 13:36 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Sabalenka 6-1 0-1 Branstine

Before the match, Aryna Sabalenka didn't really know much about her opponent apart from that "this is the beautiful girl" as Carson Branstine funds her tennis by working as a model.

Of course Branstine knows a lot more about the world number one and just how often she has delivered this kind of dominant performance.

But Branstine got a huge roar on Court One when she held to get herself on the scoreboard and ward off a potential bagel. She may have lost the set but that hold will give her something to draw on.

And Branstine will feel a lot better about life after holding to love in the opening game of the second set.

    Oliver Tarvet interviewed

What a moment for British qualifier Oliver Tarvet - ranked 719th in the world - as he wins his first-ever Grand Slam match and he is through to the second round on his Wimbledon debut.

It was an impressive display of confident tennis from the 21-year-old and while his opponent is currently outside the top 500 as well, he was 117th in the world as recently as August.

The crowd were on the feet when that win was sealed, having packed around court four to get a glimpse of a British winner.

The famous tennis court in the world is open for business.

    A glorious sight.

As always, there is a hum of giddiness as the lucky ticket-holders stream in to watch Carlos Alcaraz start his defence of the title.

Even the Royal Box is already packed. The posh sandwiches will have to wait until they've turned slightly crusty.

The arrival of David Beckham - looking full Spice Boy in his 90s cream suit - gets people whooping.

  11. Game and first set - Sabalenkapublished at 13:33 British Summer Time 30 June

    Sabalenka 6-1 0-0 Branstine*

Aryna Sabalenka takes the first set in a little under 25 minutes.

Comfortable for the top seed so far with Carson Branstine showing some signs of nerves on her Grand Slam debut.

She'll hope for better in the second set, Sabalenka will want to get this done quickly.

  12. Game and first set - Ferypublished at 13:33 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Popyrin 4-6 0-0 Fery

British wildcard Arthur Fery manages to hold his nerve and serve out to secure the opening set.

A tight first set with just the one break but the 22-year-old has put himself in a good position for a possible upset against the the 20th seed Alexei Popyrin on Court 15.

Can he keep this momentum up in the second set?

  13. Bautista Agut holdspublished at 13:32 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Norrie 6-3 0-1 Bautista Agut

Simple yet effective from Roberto Bautista Agut, as he sees out his service game 40-15 while showing good control from the back of the court.

We did see glimpses of the Spaniard's quality in the first set, but he will definitely be looking to take it up a notch in the second.

A big cheer on Centre Court, not because the players have arrived.

No, no. It's for the arrival of David Beckham in the Royal Box.

    Sporting royalty, alright.

  15. Branstine holdspublished at 13:31 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Sabalenka 5-1 Branstine

An ace down the T and Carson Branstine is on the board!

Big cheers from the crowd on Court One as the Canadian wins her first game at a Grand Slam.

She was in control of the game at 40-15 but threaten to throw it away with double fault at 40-30.

However, she held her nerve to see it out.

Aryna Sabalenka will now serve for the first set.

Preparation is the key to success, as we all know. But everyone does it differently.

In an era where the principle of marginal gains is generally of upmost importance, Carlos Alcaraz's way of getting ready for a Grand Slam can seem rather unorthodox.

The 22-year-old Spaniard headed to Ibiza for a short break after winning that incredible French Open final against Jannik Sinner.

In the build-up to Wimbledon he has regularly been out on the golf course - playing in a four-ball with some fella called Andy Murray.

Switching off mentally between the hours of hard graft on the practice courts is paramount for Alcaraz - and clearly works for him.

  17. GB's Tarvet into round twopublished at 13:27 British Summer Time 30 June

    Tarvet 6-4 6-4 6-4 Riedi

Great scenes on court four as Oliver Tarvet punches the air to celebrate his victory, before going over to his team and his family to dish out some hugs.

The British player won't be able to claim the full prize money he'll earn from his run through qualifying to the second round because of United States college rules - you can read more about that here.

But I'm sure that will be far from his mind right now as that victory - which will probably propel him a couple of hundred places up the world rankings - starts to sink in.

  18. Game and first set - Norriepublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 30 June

    Norrie 6-3 0-0 Bautista Agut*

Cameron Norrie has taken the first set against Roberto Bautista Agut on Court 18.

The British number three only need 44 minutes to seal the opener by 6-3, despite a bit of a fightback from Bautista Agut.

Norrie is showing his mettle out on court, hitting the ball more aggressively and varying his shots, but his Spanish counterpart did make things a little bit edgy in the closing stages.

  19. Game and third set - Belluccipublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 30 June

    Bellucci 6-7 (2-7) 6-3 6-4 0-0 Crawford*

Mattia Bellucci's aces have been superb and he has three match points before sealing the third set with another one.

The Italian hit six aces in the third set, with Brit Oliver Crawford unable to hit one.

After he lost the first set, Bellucci has taken control of the contest and is now just one set away from victory.

  20. Sabalenka a game from the first setpublished at 13:25 British Summer Time 30 June

    Sabalenka 5-0 Branstine*

Aryna Sabelanka is a game away from taking the first set.

A hold to love for the world number one but it's more frustration for Carson Branstine.

She's played some good points but is failing to finish them off, another error at the net at 15-0 is a prime example in this game.
