Iga Swiatek is just so used to getting deep in majors and being so consistent.

I still feel there are areas of her game that she can improve which is exciting for someone so young.

Over the past 30 years, British tennis fans have got used to Tim Henman, Greg Rusedski and most notably Andy Murray putting them through the wringer with some evening drama on one of the Wimbledon show courts.

They haven't had that experience yet with Jack Draper. Maybe tonight is the night?

The Court One crowd are doing their best to raise him, cheering loudly as an ace down the "T" completes a hold of serve and brings the British number one back to 4-2 in the second set.

  3. Swiatek holdspublished at 18:06 British Summer Time 3 July

    *Swiatek 5-7 6-2 4-0 McNally

Both break points are saved exquisitely with some high-level serving by Iga Swiatek.

Caty McNally steps into the court to volley but gets her feet caught underneath her and Swiatek is a point shy of the hold.

McNally tries the same approach and this time her footwork is good and the volley comes off.

    *Draper 4-6 1-4 Cilic

The break won't come in this game - a hold to love with the minimum of fuss from Marin Cilic.

    Imperious thus far.

    Where has this come from?

Caty McNally has struggled to match Iga Swiatek's level in this deciding set but has somehow worked her way into a position with two break points.

  8. 'Draper's sliced backhand has been ineffective'published at 18:02 British Summer Time 3 July

    *Draper 4-6 1-3 Cilic

    Todd Woodbridge
Former Wimbledon doubles champion on BBC One

Jack Draper has to try to get the ball out of Marin Cilic's hitting zone, but that is hard to do because he is so tall.

We have seen that Draper likes to throw the ball up with some spin on the forehand, but it only gets in to shoulder height with Cilic. He likes to lean into the ball from there.

For me, the other option would be to go down low and get it in more of that area, however his sliced backhand has been ineffective today.

Caty McNally is giving everything here and the crowd are showing their appreciation but Iga Swiatek is just striding towards the win now.

Jack Draper stops the momentum against him with a hold of serve to 30, wrapping things up with a forehand cross-court winner.

Now he must start to think about trying to get that break back - he's had just the one break point so far in this match.

  11. Swiatek earns double breakpublished at 18:00 British Summer Time 3 July

    *Swiatek 5-7 6-2 4-0 McNally

Caty McNally saves the first and does everything within her power to try and defend the second.

A couple of slams from Iga Swiatek are looped back over the net as McNally ends up with her back against the wall - literally and figuratively - and eventually can't stay in the point any longer.

    Swiatek has a double break.

Alongside plenty of action in the singles, there have been lots of men's doubles matches in play at SW19 with first rounds under way.

British duo Billy Harris and Marcus Willis have squeaked through into the second round with a 7-6 (7-3) 7-6 (7-2) win over Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik and Italy's Flavio Cobolli. It took the pair one hour and 24 minutes to complete the victory on court five.

They will face men's doubles second seeds Harri Heliovaara and fellow Brit Henry Patten in round two.

However, British pairing Lui Maxted and Connor Thomson failed to win their first round match. The unseeded duo fell to a 6-4 7-6 (7-4) defeat by eighth seeds Nikola Mektic and Michael Venus on court eight.

Elsewhere, Hugo Nys and Edouard Roger-Vasselin have beaten French pairing Benjamin Bonzi and Gregoire Jacq in straight sets out on court six. The 10th seeds needed one hour and 49 minutes to claim their 7-6 (7-5) 7-5 victory.

  14. Cilic holdspublished at 17:56 British Summer Time 3 July

Make that five games in a row for Marin Cilic. This is quite a puzzle that Jack Draper is going to have to work out.

  15. Postpublished at 17:56 British Summer Time 3 July

    Swiatek 5-7 6-2 3-0 McNally*

It's not time to panic just yet for Caty McNally, though.

The American trailed 3-0 before finding her groove and taking the opening set.

It's also only fair to point out that she also trailed 3-0 in the second and was unable to mount a comeback.

Maybe that's the one we should be using as a reference point here?

  16. 'McNally looking fatigued'published at 17:55 British Summer Time 3 July

Iga Swiatek is keeping Caty McNally moving from left to right.

McNally is looking slightly fatigued and not getting to some of these balls quite as quickly.

Jack Draper flashes a sharp stare towards his team after losing serve again.

This is not supposed to be how things panned out.

Marin Cilic is still playing lights out. Drilling into the corners, opening up space and then striping a winner or leaving Draper scrambling.

The positives for the Brit? This guy is 36 and may - may - have a dip shortly.

  18. Swiatek holdspublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 3 July

Caty McNally has spent a lot of time off court over the past two years due to injury issues and that lack of regular tennis might be just catching up with her.

The American sees another game pass her by as concerns grow she is feeling a little fatigued.

A forehand winner down the line, a pumped fist to his box, two break-point chances for Marin Cilic - and he takes the first of them.

Cilic in control at the moment. Four games in a row for the former US Open champion.

There's applause for Caty McNally after she made that wonderful return with the racquet behind her back. It may have entertained the crowd but Iga Swiatek still got the point and McNally puffed out her cheeks as if to say 'what more can I do?'.

Swiatek is very much in her groove now.
