The Chile fans here take the spotlight for the first time with an upbeat chant of their country’s name. There’s not many of them, but they make plenty of noise as Nicolas Jarry looks to edge his way to victory.

They pause, with the players ready to continue, but they’re made to wait by the Brazilian fans who squeeze in a chant of their own in response.

It’s good fun in the sun in court two and, after a brief pause of concern as it’s announced Joao Fonseca will have a medical timeout for help with an ankle and/or foot issue, a Mexican wave breaks out.

Despite the break lead, Carlos Alcaraz is still finding his range here.

He's been a touch fortunate that a couple of forehand winners have just found the chalk of the baseline - when they really needn't have been that precise.

We’re seeing, and hearing, Joao Fonseca become increasingly frustrated here by Nicolas Jarry’s excellent serving.

The Brazilian star has had to watch several booming first serves fly past him, including that closing ace - his 11th of the match.

Initially he was shrugging off those unstoppable strikes from Jarry, but he was chuntering away to himself as the second set concluded.

He still has the strong support of the crowd - and he’s going to desperately need them here if he’s to get out of this situation.
