    There were a few puzzled looks as Naomi Osaka crouched down to the grass at the back of the court, facing away from her opponent instead of setting herself to serve.

    It soon became clear that she was rescuing a small insect that had wandered in for a closer look at the action.

    Applause from the crowd. Maybe that will bring her good karma for the rest of the match.

    This is fascinatingly poised and enjoyable to watch. Osaka lands with such accuracy, she is very dictating with the forehand.

    Beautiful striking from Pavlyuchenkova. It felt quite unsettled for Osaka, but it is a massive game for her to have dug herself out of.

    Naomi Osaka had to dig deep to save those break points - effectively set points as she stared at a 4-0 deficit in this second set - but used that as a platform to produce a wonderful return game.

    A flurry of powerful, clean strikes are too much for Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and there’s no mistaking who the majority of the crowd are rooting for here as Osaka shakes her fist in celebration.

    The court two stands are willing Osaka on all the way.
