On the court next door to Jarry and Fonseca, there was another interesting story.

Poland's Kamil Majchrzak has just got over the line to beat France's Arthur Rinderknech and reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the first time.

Majchrzak missed all of the 2023 season as he was serving a 13-month doping ban.

He always strenuously maintained his innocence - and was critical of the anti-doping authorities afterwards.

The vigour of his celebration - falling flat on his back before a slam-dunk leap into the air - demonstrated his joy.
