We are going to see more and more movement from Schuurs.

They are trying to keep the points short and sharp because they don't want to get into those longer baseline exchanges.

They have just been beaten, quite frankly, so if they can get the net player involved and cut angles off then they will be backing themselves. So it's smart play.

  5. Lamens/Schuurs holdpublished at 18:51 British Summer Time 12 April

    *Boulter/Burrage 6-2 0-1 Lamens/Schuurs

Suzan Lamens knows she can get the better of Katie Boulter having just beaten her in their singles match and it's the British number one she is aiming for in the baseline rallies while Demi Shuurs does the business at the net.

The Dutch pair take the hold with some smart play at the net.

    Boulter/Burrage 6-2 0-0 Lamens/Schuurs*

The Dutch pair have gone off the court at the end of that set.

Jodie Burrage and Katie Boulter, meanwhile, looking very much up for this. They won't want to be stood hanging around for too long, though.

  7. 'Dutch looking deflated at times'published at 18:44 British Summer Time 12 April

    Boulter/Burrage 6-2 Lamens/Schuurs

The Dutch have really been caught off guard here, this is probably not what they were expecting from this new GB pair.

They are looking a little bit deflated and shell-shocked at times, their energy has dipped.

The GB pair did well to come back from love 30 in the last game, there is a certain zip about Boulter and Burrage. This first set has been animated and sharp from them.

Perhaps an unlikely pair but an effective one so far!

Harriet Dart’s leaning into the tambourine playing on the team bench after the disappointment of being left out of this doubles.

Will this prove to be one of the great substitutions? It’s certainly not a partnership rooted in experience as Boulter and Burrage have only played together once, and that resulted in a first round defeat to Sarah Emily Webley-Smith and Sarah Beth Grey in Nottingham four years ago.

Really nice work from the Brits taking Schuurs off the court. That's where GB are really going to back themselves, in that baseline battle between Schuurs and Boulter.

What a run of games this has been for the Brits. At the moment they have too much at the back of the court, they are causing all sorts of problems for the Dutch.

  12. Boulter/Burrage breakpublished at 18:36 British Summer Time 12 April

    *Boulter/Burrage 5-2 Lamens/Schuurs

The British pair's break came from Demi Schuurs' service game and Katie Boulter and Jodie Burrage look well on their way to doing it again as Boulter comes out on top in a rally from the baseline with Schuurs to bring up a break point.

Schuurs finds an overhead smash to take us to deuce but again the British team are on top in the baseline rallies and they take the double-break at the second opportunity.

  13. 'Firepower from Boulter and Burrage'published at 18:33 British Summer Time 12 April

    Boulter/Burrage 4-2 Lamens/Schuurs*

There has been some good quality so far, no doubt this will come down to a moment here or there.

Schuurs smashes are tough to find deep in the court but there is just too much pace from the Brits. Boulter and Burrage have too much firepower at the moment.

  14. Boulter holds to lovepublished at 18:33 British Summer Time 12 April

    *Boulter/Burrage 3-2 Lamens/Schuurs

A comfortable service game from Suzan Lamens, with Demi Schuurs once again proving her worth at the net.

Boulter and Burrage are still looking good though, they are working around the court well together.

  16. 'Super serving and defence from GB'published at 18:28 British Summer Time 12 April

    *Boulter/Burrage 3-2 Lamens/Schuurs

    Naomi Cavaday
Former British tennis player on BBC Red Button

Some super serving from Burrage and a great game from Great Britain to keep their serve.

Boulter will be looking for that strike down the line quite frequently to defend the Netherlands.

However the Netherlands teams have some strong forehands up their sleeve which can be difficult to get back across.

  17. Burrage holdspublished at 18:27 British Summer Time 12 April

    Boulter/Burrage 3-1 Lamens/Schuurs*

Katie Boulter and Jodie Burrage have settled into this match nicely, and you get the feeling that Great Britain captain Anne Keothavong might be onto something with this doubles pairing.

"Great stuff," Boulter shouts to her partner Burrage, who has just executed a near-perfect service game.

  18. Boulter/Burrage break to lovepublished at 18:23 British Summer Time 12 April

    *Boulter/Burrage 2-1 Lamens/Schuurs

    What is going on?

Katie Boulter and Jodie Burrage have just gone from a break to love down in Boulter's service game to a break to love up in Schuurs' service game in the space of about four minutes.

If their plan was to attack Demi Schuurs' serve, they certainly executed it.

  19. 'Some early pressure for GB'published at 18:20 British Summer Time 12 April

    Boulter/Burrage 1-1 Lamens/Schuurs*

    Naomi Cavaday

Great stuff from Schuurs. It can be tricky on a clay court to try and get across the court quick enough and make it back for your return but she does that brilliantly.

There is a lot of pressure already for Great Britain but they did excellently well to save four break points.

GB are doing well, thanks to some big serves from Katie Boutler.

  20. Boulter holdspublished at 18:20 British Summer Time 12 April

    Boulter/Burrage 1-1 Lamens/Schuurs*

A bit of a nervy start from Boulter and Burrage, who just handed four break points to their opponents.

The pair did manage to pull things back to deuce though, helped by some lovely serving from Boulter, and they comfortably close out the second game after a bit of a tussle.

Demi Schuurs is proving her worth from close-range here. Her shots have been unplayable at times.
