There's a little giggle around Centre Court as someone screams at the top of their lungs "Come on Mark" just before the Estonian steps up to serve.

A Carlos Alcaraz supporter doesn't give it the same amount of welly when he yells "Come on Carlitos".

Four-time major winner Naomi Osaka returns to Wimbledon today for her first match here in five years.

The 26-year-old Japanese missed the 2023 tournament because she was pregnant with her first child, Shai, who was born in July last year.

In 2022, Osaka was injured while in 2021 she took several breaks from the sport to protect her mental health.

Osaka, ranked 113, has been given a wildcard and says she is "very starry-eyed" about returning to Wimbledon, where she has never gone beyond the third round in three previous appearances.

At the recent French Open, she had match point against eventual champion Iga Swiatek in the second round but eventually lost 7-6 (7-1) 1-6 7-5.

She opens against French world number 53 Diane Parry, on court two shortly.

  20. Game and second set - Altmaierpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 1 July

    Altmaier 4-6 7-6 (8-6) Fery*

It's nail-biting stuff as Daniel Altmaier and Arthur Fery go back-and-forth in the tie-break.

Fery has a chance at set point after Altmaier's usually reliable backhand fires wide but the Brit can't take advantage as he goes long.

And it's a huge chance missed as Altmaier earns his own chance at set point and makes it count.

We've got a real match on our hands here.
