I think sometimes Carlos Alcaraz suffers from having too many options on a tennis court.

After a hold to love from Lajal, a hold to love from Alcaraz. Next.
*Alcaraz 7-6 (7-3) 2-3 Lajal
After two games in a row for Carlos Alcaraz, Mark Lajal returns to form with a hold to love, including ace number four.

Carlos Alcaraz has got this all-court game which includes coming to the net. It's impressive, that's for sure.
Altmaier 4-6 5-4 Fery*
And there is that vital break from Daniel Altmaier.
The German sends a thunderous backhand deep to the baseline and it just about sneaks in the corner.
Altmaier lets out a huge scream.
He builds on that break by holding to love to move in front for the first time in this second set.
*Wawrinka 6-3 7-5 3-0 Broom
It's eight games in a row for Stan Wawrinka.
Charles Broom brought his A-game to the first two sets but it's clearly taken a lot out of him.
Alcaraz 7-6 (7-3) 2-2 Lajal*
A hold to love after that break back from Carlos Alcaraz, mirroring what he did in the first set in a similar situation.
Wawrinka 6-3 7-5 2-0 Broom*

Two sets and a break down, it’s looking extremely bleak for British wildcard Charlie Broom right now.
Stan Wawrinka is hitting some brilliant ground strokes and his backhand is purring. This one might be over soon and the crowd on court two can sense it.
Altmaier 4-6 3-4 Fery*
No mistakes from Arthur Fery back on serve as he grinds through the game to move 4-2 clear.
Daniel Altmaier is showing no signs of struggle after that earlier medical time-out and races to hold to 15 to close the gap once more.
Altmaier can't afford any further slip ups and is still searching for a vital break.
*Alcaraz 7-6 (7-3) 1-2 Lajal
Just like in the first set, Mark Lajal breaks Carlos Alcaraz's serve but then loses his next service game to love.
Lajal gets Hawk-Eye to check one, but the call was correct, the ball was out and Alcaraz immediately fights back.
Alcaraz 7-6 (7-3) 0-2 Lajal*
Naomi Broady
British player on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds
Alcaraz is not taking it easy. The top players have gears they can move through as and when the going gets tough in the later rounds, but he’s being pushed here.
The level of tennis that Lajal has produced so far has been so impressive.
Alcaraz 7-6 (7-3) 0-2 Lajal*
Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC One
Good response from Mark Lajal, he didn't let his head drop after that first set.
He has got the early break in the second and now he has got to try and capitalise.
Alcaraz 7-6 (7-3) 0-2 Lajal*
Pat Cash
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds
Lajal is continuing to go for his shots and this has been a very good standard match for a qualifier.
You’d think he’d come out nervous, and push the ball around. We’ll see if he falls away but at the moment he is really up there with Alcaraz.
Alcaraz 7-6 (7-3) 0-2 Lajal*
Just as he did in the first set, Mark Lajal gets a break of serve. Last time he was instantly broken back, can he consolidate the break this time?
Kovacevic 3-6 4-6 1-4 Medvedev*
Aleksandar Kovacevic has not been great with his challenges in this match so, when he finally gets one right to overturn an ace down the middle from Daniil Medvedev, he punches the air.
His joy is short-lived as Medvedev immediately produces another ace out wide on his way to a comfortable hold.
Kovacevic does at least avoid a bagel in the third set as he holds to 15.
*Alcaraz 7-6 (7-3) 0-1 Lajal
Alcaraz has saved one break point in this game, but gifts Lajal another chance with a double fault.
Wawrinka 6-3 7-5 2-0 Broom*
Wawrinka has now won four of his seven break point opportunities in this match and it's proving the difference.
He's just won the big points, when it's mattered. A cross court forehand did it for him this time.
He quickly follows it up and holds his service game.
*Alcaraz 6-6 (6-3) 0-1 Lajal

You can see the frustration creeping in for Carlos Alcaraz.
He's not happy with his game at the moment and that's clear when he mutters under his breath after lofting a return high into the sky.
Mark Lajal isn't making this easy.
Altmaier 4-6 2-3 Fery*
Daniel Altmaier seems to have settled down after he was broken by Arthur Fery in the opening game of the second set.
The German holds to 15 to keep some pressure on Fery.
Ideally, Altmaier needs a break of his own soon, though, otherwise Fery is on track to move two sets clear
