Dolehide v Gauff

Just been making my way over to court two and I’ve only come across US Open champion Coco Gauff practising on court seven.
The second seed will be last on Centre Court today against compatriot Caroline Dolehide.
Wawrinka 6-3 3-5 Broom*
Three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka is showing real resilience in this second set, saving four break points.
Broom was 40-15 up and millimeters away from grabbing the set.
Alas, he'll have to serve it out.
*Altmaier 3-4 Fery
We've got a break in play on Court 16 as German Daniel Altmaier requires some medical attention.
Altmaier slipped as he prepared to return to ball from behind the baseline and he is currently lay down on the grass at the side of court receiving treatment.
It is 15-15 in the eighth game.
Kovacevic 3-6 3-4 Medvedev*
Fantastic forehand return from Daniil Medvedev to earn the first break of the second set.
Just as Aleksandar Kovacevic had begun to look more comfortable, the fifth seed ups the ante to take control of the set.
He read a drop shot to first put pressure on the Kovacevic serve and his thumping return at break point is too much for the world number 88 to handle.
Alcaraz 5-4 Lajal*
At 4-4, 30-30 Lajal is two points away from serving for the first set, but the Spaniard provides a couple of big serves, including an ace, when he needs to and now Lajal has to serve to stay in the opening set.
Kostyuk 6-3 6-2 Sramkova
News of another seeded player safely through to round two... Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk has beaten Rebecca Sramkova in straight sets.
The only seed to fall so far today is Nicolas Jarry, the men's 19th seed who lost to Denis Shapovalov.

A wild Carlos Alcaraz mishit flies into the stands.
It bounces once, then again, past a couple of security staff before a lucky supporter gets their hands on the ball and raises it into the air, getting a warm round of applause for her efforts.
Lovely stuff.
*Alcaraz 4-4 Lajal
A delicate drop shot from Mark Lajal is too good and leaves Carlos Alcaraz unable to get there. That helps the Estonian get back in this one after losing successive games. But, after half hour, the world number 269 has given a great account of himself so far.
But how will he do as we approach the business end of the set?
*Kovacevic 3-6 3-3 Medvedev
Aleksandar Kovacevic has started to get to the net with far greater frequency in this second set and it is working nicely for him.
It's enabling him to draw Daniil Medvedev off the baseline, where he is so comfortable, and has led to three good holds for the American.
They're still on serve in the set, though.

After practice, Andy Murray was trailed by a group of reporters who wanted to know the latest on his chances of playing in the singles tomorrow.
The two-time champ didn't offer much more than what he told us yesterday, reiterating he expects to make a decision tonight rather than wait until the last possible moment tomorrow.
"I'll have chat with my team now, speak to my family this evening and make a decision," said Murray.
"It's getting better and the testing I've done had been good. I just need to decide whether its enough to compete."

Alcaraz wouldn’t have known what to expect coming out on to the match court today. He certainly will have known of Lajal in juniors but the qualifier is always the fear of the unknown.
Alcaraz 4-3 Lajal*
Since losing his serve, Carlos Alcaraz has not lost a point, breaking back to love and then holding to love.
*Wawrinka 6-3 1-4 Broom
Charles Broom is flying in this second set and the British crowd are loving it.
The British wildcard almost went 4-0 up but Wawrinka is keeping him honest.
Agile and alert, Broom's play is making for quite a match here on court two.
Watch as David Beckham and Sir David Attenborough are spotted among those in attendance in the Royal Box today.
*Alcaraz 3-3 Lajal
Carlos Alcaraz does what champions do. He got broken in game five and then instantly breaks to love a few minutes later to instantly get us back on serve.
Alcaraz pulled a forehand across court and Mark Laval just about got there but could only send it long as his advantage evaporates very quickly.

Our first challenge of the day gets the crowd on Centre Court very excited.
They ramp up the claps until the screen reads 'in' and proves Mark Lajal was right to challenge.
Kovacevic 3-6 2-1 Medvedev*
Three aces in the opening game of the second set made it a straightforward hold for Aleksandar Kovacevic and the American appears to be growing in confidence.
Daniil Medvedev holds comfortably enough but Kovacevic gets himself back in front in the set with another hold, coming out on top after an energetic rally before bringing out the serve and volley for the first time in the match - and to good effect.

I don’t know if Mark Lajal has missed a ball yet. He is taking this in is stride as if it is just another day.
Alcaraz 2-3 Lajal*
On the first break point, Carlos Alcaraz produced a lovely half volley to dig one out of the turf and scoop the ball just over the net.
But Mark Lajal, who is looking confident, happy and impressing, gets the break of serve.
The reigning champion finds himself in a spot of bother and 3-2 down against a qualifier.
