  1. 'Cruise control from Alcaraz'published at 16:14 British Summer Time 3 July

    *Alcaraz 7-6 (7-5) 6-2 2-1 Vukic

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

It looks like the quality of play from Carlos Alcaraz but also the amount of effort it took from Aleksandar Vukic is catching up with him.

The legs don't seem to have the same spring as they did in the first set.

It appears to be cruise control for Alcaraz from here.

  2. Alcaraz breakspublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 3 July

    *Alcaraz 7-5 6-2 2-1 Vukic

Some of Carlos Alcaraz's play is frightening, giving Aleksandar Vukic no time to sort his feet out.

There were audible gasps from the crowd at the lightning quick play.

An unsuccessful challenge from Vukic sets up break points and Alcaraz grabs the second as his opponent hits long.

  3. Muller breaks backpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 3 July

    *Muller 7-6 (7-3) 6-7 (4-7) 3-4 Medvedev

    This is not over yet!

After Daniil Medvedev won that second set and secured the early break in the third it looked like it would all be over. But Alexandre Muller has stayed in this match brilliantly - mentally and physically.

He breaks back to get us back on serve in this third set.

Where is this coming from?! Muller has only ever won three matches on the grass.

    Alcaraz 7-5 6-2 1-1 Vukic*

It feels almost as if Carlos Alcaraz could walk around the court with his eyes closed.

The precision of his play is really giving Aleksandar Vukic no options.

  6. Ruud pulls a set backpublished at 16:09 British Summer Time 3 July

    *Fognini 6-4 7-5 6-7 (1-7) 1-0 Ruud

Fabio Fognini led 5-2 in the third set only for Casper Ruud to recover and take the set in a tie-break.

This match could go the distance as eighth seed Ruud will not go down without a fight.

  7. Postpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 3 July

    *Alcaraz 7-5 6-2 0-1 Vukic

Quick, short points dominate this service game from Aleksandar Vukic, except the last.

Carlos Alcaraz just can't get his shot at the net to drop in and the Australian moves ahead in the third set.

  8. Murray hopes for 'good' on-court chemistry with Raducanupublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 3 July

    Jonathan Jurejko
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

A mixed doubles partnership is as much about the chemistry as the talent.

So it will be interesting how Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu gel on court later this week.

Especially because Murray admits they might not have time to have a proper practice together.

Asked how he thinks their on-court chemistry will be, he said: "I don’t know, hopefully good.

"She’s obviously unbelievably competitive and likes playing in the big stadiums and with crowds so I expect she’ll deal with that really well.

"I’ve always enjoyed the mixed doubles so I think it will be good."

A routine backhand winner down the line seals a second set for Carlos Alcaraz.

This second set has flown by. What must Aleksandar Vukic be thinking after such a strong start?

  10. Medvedev finding groovepublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 3 July

    Muller 7-6 (7-3) 6-7 (4-7) 1-4 Medvedev*

Daniil Medvedev fully in the groove now. He looks a lot more relaxed out there.

The fifth seed has had to save break points in this third set but looks much more composed with a break under his belt.

Can Alexandre Muller maintain his level to keep pace with the tall Russian?

  11. “Players coming through”published at 16:00 British Summer Time 3 July

    Charlotte Coates
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

“Make space please, players coming through” is often something you hear shouted quite a few times around the grounds.

I turned to find former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu making her way to court.

  12. Alcaraz to serve for second setpublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 3 July

    *Alcaraz 7-5 5-2 Vukic

Aleksandar Vukic holds, again fuelled by some more powerful serving.

Carlos Alcaraz is about to serve for the second set and this would create a massive mountain for Vukic.

Let's hear from Sonay Kartal who reaches the third round, and will face second seed Coco Gauff next:

"Today is a really special day for me. To have people out there who have been with me since I was six. Monday was a high and now I have topped that today."

On her mentality in the deciding set: "I just tried to put everything behind me. When I needed the crowd the most they helped me in that third set. I owe that to you guys today."

After injuries and illness, how much does this mean? "I had a tough start to the year, I didn’t know what I would be doing this year.

"To come back in and go straight into the deep end, and have my biggest wins so far since recovering, I’m super proud of that."

On facing second seed Coco Gauff next: "It’s going to be a tough match, it’s going to be a fun match and I hope I can do the British crowd proud."

Court one action will begin on Thursday at 13:00 BST with an all-British blockbuster tie between the British number one Katie Boulter and compatriot Harriet Dart.

Remarkably it's an all-British affair in the men's singles, too, with Jack Draper taking on Cameron Norrie in the second match on court one.

And to finish German French Open finalist Alexander Zverev will face American Marcos Giron in the evening session.

Then women's world number one Iga Swiatek will continue her pursuit of a first Wimbledon title when she takes to court against Croatia's Petra Martic.

And to round off the day it's the one we've all been waiting for as Andy and Jamie Murray begin their men's doubles campaign against Australian pair Rinky Hijikata and John Peers.

  17. Alcaraz picks up double breakpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 3 July

    *Alcaraz 7-5 4-1 Vukic

A double fault from Aleksandar Vukic and two winners from Carlos Alcaraz give the Spaniard a healthy advantage in this second set.

The Australian just can't dent Alcaraz's composure.

"It's going to be a tough match, a fun match," she says. We'll have more from that interview with the British qualifier shortly.

But that really is some win for Kartal, just her second at Wimbledon - and they've both come in the last three days.
