    Andy Murray says Emma Raducanu was top of his list for a mixed doubles partner in his Wimbledon farewell.

    "I chatted a bit with my team about it and they said 'what exactly are you trying to get out of it?'

    "Firstly we want to be competitive in the matches and then playing with another Brit was going to be something that would be nice.

    "She's obviously one of the top British players and she would have been top of the list."

    Clara Burel forces a decider after brilliant second set on court three.

    Britain's Sonay Kartal was two breaks up at 3-0 and even after Burel got one back, she had the chance to restore that advantage.

    However, Burel started to play with more consistency and with Kartal struggling to find the power to get past her defences, the Frenchwoman was able to fight back, take the set and stay alive in a match that looked lost.

    Not for the first time this week, Andy Murray is creating the headlines at WImbledon.

    Today it is the blockbuster mixed doubles partnership with Emma Raducanu which is attracting attention.

    Asked by reporters for a quote or two on his way out of the practice courts, Murray obliges and reveals how the pairing happened.

    Murray says he sent a text to Raducanu about 9pm last night and, after being worried it was too late for a response, she quickly replied. It was a yes, of course.

    "It should be fun," said Murray.

    But then we received news earlier that Andy Murray will be featuring in not just one competition but two. He's teaming up with Emma Raducanu in the mixed doubles.

    Meanwhile, Clara Burel has really stepped it up and the combination is not a good one for the Brit.

    Burel brings up two set points but a bullet forehand from Kartal saves the first and her opponent nets the second.

    The Frenchwoman keeps coming with Kartal forced to save another two set points and pushes on to hold.
