We have the covers off and nets up around the ground. As long as there is no rain in the next 10 minutes, we are looking good to get going at 13:00 BST, just two hours later than scheduled.

  2. Murra-canu?published at 12:47 British Summer Time 3 July

Five years ago, we had 'Ser-Andy'.

That was when Sir Andy teamed up with Serena Williams in the Wimbledon mixed.

Murray described the collab with the 23-time major champion as a "once in a lifetime" opportunity.

Playing alongside 2021 US Open champion Raducanu is set to be another special occasion in the final weeks of his illustrious career.

What's the team name for the Brits then? Murra-canu seems the obvious one. Right?

Annoyingly, the rain is very much on and then off for short while.

It’s looking doubtful we’ll get through the full order of play for today but here’s hoping.

  4. Gauff first in action on Court Onepublished at 12:40 British Summer Time 3 July

Second seed Coco Gauff reached the second round fairly comfortably after defeating fellow American and friend Caroline Dolehide in a straight-set victory on Monday.

This already improves upon her Wimbledon performance from last year, where she exited in the first round, with the fourth round being her best finishes in 2019 and 2021.

However, this year has been a good one for Gauff who reached the semi-final in the Australian and Italian Opens and sits at a career-high ranking of world number two.

Qualifier Anca Todoni made her Grand Slam debut in the first round and recorded her first win over Olga Danilovic 7-5 6-1.

It will be the biggest match of the Romanian's career against a previous Grand Slam winner.

The good news is that umbrellas are starting to come down now.

What’s new this year Wimbledon are these water refill stations.

There are six of them around the grounds where you can purchase a reusable bottle and unlimited refills.

I have to admit that I did give in on day one and buy one of the lovely bottles.

  7. No play until 13:00 BSTpublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 3 July

    The weather is teasing us.

The covers were off and now they're back on again. That means there will now be no play on the outside courts until 13:00 BST at least.

We are guaranteed to see some action then as Court One, which has a roof, will start at that time.

  8. Pictures anyone?published at 12:24 British Summer Time 3 July

Not sure if this helps anyone, but if you don't have a ticket to see any of the matches, you can still go to Centre Court and Court One before play starts.

So, if you want any pictures with the famous royal box, go before play! I've seen a number of people getting their million-dollar selfies.

  9. 'So good to have Raducanu and Murray together'published at 12:21 British Summer Time 3 July

    John Lloyd
Former GB Davis Cup captain on BBC TV

Love it. I can't believe it. That is so good to have these two together.

She [Emma Raducanu] idolises Andy [Murray] and now she gets a chance to play with him in probably his last tournament. How special is that?

You know how seriously he is taking that. He'll have said to Emma 'we're going to win this. We're not here just to have fun.' That's how competitive he is.

I think that will be on the Centre Court.

You can imagine there was no hesitation when the phone call came through. There will be a bit of pressure on Emma but she's playing with her idol. What a great combo.

  10. 'Damp conditions make the courts slicker'published at 12:18 British Summer Time 3 July

    Annabel Croft
Former British number one on BBC TV

It does change everything for players, when you have rain delays.

It gets quite stressful when there are rain delays, there are many equations that you have to come to terms with.

There is more moisture and that changes everything in terms of the conditions as well.

Any of the players who have done any nasty slips when the grass court season began, and the courts were a little bit more lush, it gets into a player's head because movement is everything on a court.

The damp conditions make the courts a bit slicker and if you have slipped, it gets into your head psychologically and it changes quite a lot.

  11. Covers coming off!published at 12:15 British Summer Time 3 July

Good news! There is not an umbrella in sight and the covers are starting to be removed.

Fingers crossed but we should have some action on the outside courts soon.

  12. Court three Brit actionpublished at 12:13 British Summer Time 3 July

    Kartal v Burel

    Charlotte Coates

If you look closely, you’ll see two British names on the order of play for what looks like some great court three action.

Sonay Kartal and Lily Miyazaki will play their second-round matches against Clara Burel and Daria Kasatkina.

Emma Raducanu always looks very neat and tidy, very compact as a tennis player. She moves so beautifully but she got through that first round and you could see from the big smiles afterwards it was wonderful to see her back.

There was a great reception from the crowd as well, I think people really love watching her play.

  14. 'A superstar mixed doubles partnership'published at 12:08 British Summer Time 3 July

    How about this!

Andy Murray will play with Emma Raducanu in a superstar mixed doubles partnership as part of his Wimbledon farewell.

Murray, 37, is playing at the Championships for the final time before retiring later this year.

The two-time men's singles champion decided on Tuesday he was not fit enough to play in the singles after a recent back operation.

Andy Murray will play with Emma Raducanu in the mixed doubles.

The pair have been handed a wildcard, giving two-time men's singles champion Murray another shot at glory on his farewell appearance at Wimbledon.

For somebody who was not awarded a wildcard, you've got to battle your way through three rounds of qualifying, she has won three titles at lower tier level out on the tour this year.

She has now won four matches to get into the second round. Once you get through qualifying, you feel like you've really earned your place here in the Grand Slam, at Wimbledon, you've earned your name to be in the locker room and she really took advantage.

Sonay Kartal has got a gritty determination about her with some big booming groundstrokes.

  17. Massive day in Kartal's careerpublished at 12:02 British Summer Time 3 July

    Kartal v Burel

British qualifier Sonay Kartal, 22, came through a tough encounter with 29th seed Sorana Cirstea for her first ever Grand Slam match victory and will face Clara Burel of France in the first match on court three (not before 12:15 BST).

The winner could well take on US Open champion Coco Gauff in the third round.

  18. Chalk flew up - Djokovic 'fan' of O'Sullivanpublished at 11:56 British Summer Time 3 July

There was an unlikely meeting of sporting greats after Novak Djokovic's win as he spoke to seven-time world snooker champion Ronnie O'Sullivan.

The 48-year-old Englishman was a guest in Djokovic's player box and the Serb later revealed he was a "fan" and watched O'Sullivan play "when I was a kid".

"I watch snooker just because of him," said Djokovic. "Honestly, I watched him play many years ago. My father loved watching snooker, I only watched Ronnie. Whenever he would not play, I would not watch. We just had a meet-up, an interaction for the first time. It was great.

"He was one of the sport greats I used to watch when I was a kid. It was really nice to have him around. Hopefully we're able to play some snooker because I'm really bad at snooker. I'm okay at pool or billiards, but snooker, I tried it twice, and it's really, really tough.

"He's a really, really nice person, nice guy, and very funny."

  19. 'Boulter can start to go far'published at 11:52 British Summer Time 3 July

    Annabel Croft
Former British number one on BBC TV

    Katie BoulterImage source, Getty Images

Katie Boulter has played some really fabulous tennis and she defended her title at Nottingham. She took on the pressure and stood up to it.

Coming in here as a seed and a British number one, she is just feeling it as we saw with the defending champion, Marketa Vondrousova, who was so rattled with nerves and pressure.

It's what tennis is all about but as long as Katie can start to find that freedom on the court, she's got a big game so she can start to go far.

Movement has been a slight area of weakness but she has worked extremely hard on it and she can often get the first strike in so it is more difficult for people to get her to move around the court.
