Earlier today we discovered Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu were linking up to play in the mixed doubles.

Now we know who the British superstar pairing will face.

The draw has just been announced and pitted MuzzaCanu (insert own portmanteau) against China's Zhang Shuai and El Salvador's Marcelo Arevalo.

  2. Sinner holdspublished at 19:30 British Summer Time 3 July

    Sinner 6-5 Berrettini*

Jannik Sinner is still looking strong and a hold to love means the worst case scenario for him in this set is a tie-break.

It feels like Matteo Berrettini would have settled for that over the past few games. He's got to hold serve again to get there though.

  3. Berrettini saves set pointpublished at 19:28 British Summer Time 3 July

    *Sinner 5-5 Berrettini

Matteo Berrettini almost dropped his arms at one point in the rally, appearing to think he'd sent a forehand wide.

It drops on the line, though, and he springs back into action.

Quick movement into the net puts him into position to put away a volley to save set point and the 28-year-old serves it out from there.

  4. Set point for Sinnerpublished at 19:25 British Summer Time 3 July

    *Sinner 5-4 Berrettini

    Here we go.

After some excellent play at the net from Jannik Sinner gets him to 30-30, Matteo Berrettini slams the ball into the net on the next point.

The first break point of the match and it's also set point for the world number one.

Another hold for Jannik Sinner but after a number of very short games to start this match, we're beginning to see a few more rallies.

We've yet to get to deuce in any game so far, let alone a break point but as the set progresses, it feels like there is actually a possibility we might at least see the former!

'It's too wet' - Evans questions the court conditions during his game with Tabilo

We've got some thoughts from a frustrated Dan Evans on his match with Alejandro Tabilo starting so late last night.

The Brit ultimately lost in straight sets, 6-2 7-5 6-3.

Evans on other courts being available: "It's sort of the second time it's happened over the grass where I've ended up going on pretty late because of the weather, which has been frustrating. It's just part and parcel of it."

"Obviously, my first concern is to be safe after what happened. Obviously, that grass court wasn't safe where I slipped I don't think. I didn't think the court was playable last night for the large majority of the time we was on court."

"The powers that be in the fancy jackets didn't agree with me and we carried on."

On when he raised concerns: "Around 5-2 in the first set, I wasn't very happy. Obviously the people, the ATP supervisor or ITF supervisor, what it is, they were happy with the court, so you sort of play on."

"Yeah, in any normal time, I would have been probably fine with it. But obviously I know the sort of feeling, which is not a good one, to slip quite badly."

On Court One availability: "No, I mean, obviously that wasn't part of the plan. That's fine. Has a lot of matches to play on. Yeah, that was fine by me. It was just the fact I went on so late was annoying. It was a pretty bad day."

Just a couple of signs of sloppiness from Matteo Berrettini as a loose forehand goes wide before a slice drifts long.

He then gives Jannik Sinner a look at a second serve at 40-30 - is this the chance for the world number one?

Nope, a good second serve followed by a well-directed forehand, deep into the corner wrap up another hold for Berrettini.

  8. Paolini takes first hold in five gamespublished at 19:15 British Summer Time 3 July

    Paolini 3-2 Minnen*

Over on court one, French Open finalist Jasmine Paolini has just held her serve.

It doesn't sound like much but neither her or Belgium's Greet Minnen have been able to do so for four games.

It's been break points galore but it means we're now on serve in the opening set.

Jannik Sinner's serve is one of my favourites because I just love a compact, quick-action serve.

    Sinner 4-3 Berrettini*

We remain on serve in this first set and, the way it's going, it is difficult to see either man breaking any time soon.

The only point Matteo Berrettini gets off the Jannik Sinner serve this time comes from a double fault.

It has been extremely efficient stuff all round.

    *Sinner 3-3 Berrettini

For the first time in the match Matteo Berrettini gives Jannik Sinner a chance against his second serve.

The top seed duly punishes it and does so again a couple of points later.

At 40-30, it's the tightest game we've had so far but Berrettini snuffs out any hope of a break as he advances to the net to put away a routine volley.

Jannik Sinner's serve doesn't gather the same speed that Matteo Berrettini's does.

But that doesn't seem to matter much at the minute. Berrettini isn't getting the returns away.

    Sinner 3-2 Berrettini*

    Jannik Sinner holds to love.

The serving from both players has been excellent so far. The world number one has found his first serve on all but one occasion, while he is yet to see a second serve from Matteo Berrettini.

No wonder they're finding it hard to make inroads against the serve.

    *Sinner 2-2 Berrettini

The umpire steps in to overrule the call when Matteo Berrettini's serve is called out.

An ace it is, then, and that secures another very solid hold.

The 2021 finalist has not given Jannik Sinner even the slightest sniff of a break so far.

This is the match of the day, without question.

I think it will be absolutely brilliant.

Berrettini is one heck of a grass court player, coming up against Sinner in the second round, there's no time to play yourself in.

They're ready for battle and I think this is a dangerous match for Sinner.

    Super shot.

Just a glimpse of what Jannik Sinner has in the locker as he whips a cross-court winner beyond Matteo Berrettini on the run.

That sets the top seed on his way to another comfortable hold. No inkling of a break either way in these early stages.

That Matteo Berrettini serve is really something.

Matteo Berrettini's turn for a straightforward hold.

Serve and volley to finish, tidily put away, to make it four straight points from 0-15.

Both players nice have enjoyed early settlers on serve.
