Laura Dent: We need the crowd really cheering for Andy and Jamie to power them through this second set - and have another late night atmosphere!! It's only fitting

  2. Murray brothers brokenpublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 4 July

    Hijikata* & Peers 7-6 (8-6) 4-3 A Murray & J Murray

Rinky Hijikata and John Peers get to 40-0 and have three attempts to break. The fail with the first but are gifted the break at the second time of asking following a double fault from Jamie Murray.

From a break up to a break down in the space of five games for the Murray brothers... that's tough to take.

  3. 'Murray brothers trying to will themselves to greater heights'published at 20:32 British Summer Time 4 July

    Hijikata & Peers 7-6 (8-6) 3-3 A Murray & J Murray*

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

Both Murray brothers are trying to will themselves to greater heights, to get something going here in a big way.

They've got to do it soon.

  4. 'High quality doubles match'published at 20:32 British Summer Time 4 July

    Mark Woodforde
17-time Grand Slam doubles champion on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds

The tension is still there but after that first set, we've started to see both teams make their fair share of returns and more breaks occurring and more action happening up at net.

It's still a really high quality doubles match.

The lights are close to going out on Andy Murray's career.

But the lights are close to being turned on in Centre Court.

    Day is fast becoming night.

It was about this time on each of the past two evenings that play was stopped to close the roof and stick the floodlights on.

'(Andy) Murray under the lights' one more time?

  6. Peers holdspublished at 20:31 British Summer Time 4 July

    Hijikata & Peers 7-6 (8-6) 3-3 A Murray & J Murray*

John Peers threatens to roll straight through his service game with the help of partner Rinky Hijikata until Jamie Murray digs out a cross-court shot to make it 40-15.

A volley from Andy reduces the deficit further but before Peers gets over the line.

A brief wobble from the Australians but they recover well.

Andy Murray is a generational player so people should appreciate that.

He has been to 11 Grand Slam finals.

I know one thing, the way he competes he doesn't want to go out in the first round of Wimbledon, not even in doubles.

There will be a serious buzz in the air and an electricity if the roof gets closed. Let's hope that happens.

You'd think a back injury might impede Andy Murray on serve but there are no signs of struggle whatsoever.

Another hold to love for the three-time singles Grand Slam champion.

The excitement was building after that early break in favour of the Murray brothers at the start of this second set but there's a lack of spark from the pair as they face serve in this fourth game.

Rinky Hijikata has no issues is getting back on the board with a hold to 15.

    Back to you Andy.

  10. 'More unpredictable tennis being played'published at 20:24 British Summer Time 4 July

    Hijikata* & Peers 7-6 (8-6) 1-2 A Murray & J Murray

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

There's certainly a more exciting brand of tennis being played now.

More unpredictable. Both sides starting to make shots.

Hijikata and Peers look comfortable despite never having played together.

I disagree with Georgi @1954, Wimbledon is a unique event and has been for a long time, players eagerly wait for this tournament so there has to be something unique about Wimbledon than other tournaments and a all white dress code is perfect, hope it doesn’t change.

Andy Murray's reactions have always been better than most.

As he says himself, the best players in the world are usually the quickest thinkers.

He realises, milli-seconds before everyone else on Centre Court, that they have clinched the break.

His roar punctures the calm before the punters follow suit.

  15. Deucepublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 4 July

    Hijikata* & Peers 7-6 (8-6) 0-2 A Murray & J Murray

John Peers scoops a drop shot high over the net and Jamie Murray laps that up, volleying back down the middle. 30-15.

Ah. It quickly swings back the other way and Peers finds a huge gap between the Murray brothers to earn a shot at break point.

Denied. Andy Murray recognises a shot is sailing long and leaves it. Deuce.

Jamie Murray - a two-time doubles Grand Slam champion - uses all his experience to get a chance at break point as he launches himself towards the ball at the net. Neither Rinky Hijikata or John Peers can return.

And the Murray brothers have a break!

The roar is back on Centre Court.
