It feels quite tense on Centre Court.. It's not a celebration of free-flowing tennis. Andy Murray is clearly limited, Jamie Murray knows there's a lot on the line but it seems to have affected the Australians as well.

It feels like this first set is just teetering and waiting for someone to grab it by the scruff of the neck.

Andy Murray serves out his second game to love.

If he is struggling with his back then he isn't letting it spoil his day.

Still bright here at Wimbledon, but it's definitely more chilly.

Jumpers on, a cup of tea and Andy Murray on the large screen in the Southern Village. Can't go wrong as fans here watch on hoping for a win.

A fine volley from Andy Murray at the net gets the British pair back in the game and on level terms, having trailed 30-0.

A scoop from Andy into the baseline hands the game to the Australian duo.

Gordon from Elgin (check comment below) is bang on the money as the left-handed Jamie Murray enjoys another strong service game.

He gets it over the line with a powerful serve, which Rinky Hijikata is unable to return.

And more hand gestures from the Australian pairing now as John Peers, behind his back of course, extends his first finger and then pinky finger to Rinky Hijikata. What could that mean??

Peers certainly has no issues in understanding as he also goes on to hold to love.

There's a real sneaky side to the doubles game, which you just don't get in the singles.

Andy Murray faults on first serve, retreats to the back of the court, sees brother Jamie sending a message via a hand gesture and Andy replies "yes". He then proceeds to win the point on second serve. 30-0.

It's all smooth sailing from there too as Andy holds to love.

Hello BBC - please can you get an urgent message courtside asking The Murray Bros to draw an A and a J on the back of their hats because from behind its quite hard to tell them apart & my mums annoying me asking which is which all the time. Many thanks!

No hiccups from either side of the court on serve just yet.

A famous Andy Murray fist pump as he gets the game to deuce with a beautiful forehand down the line and over the head of Rinky Hijikata.

That's as close as the Murray brothers get to breaking, though, as the Hijikata volleys emphatically to help his partner hold.

Andy Murray is constantly stretching the back out. I think he's not feeling 100% comfortable out here.

Uh oh. Andy Murray seems to tweak that troublesome back in the third game and straight away puts his hand on that area.

He also appears to grimace towards his team.

Not a good sign but everyone on Centre is hoping he can soldier on.

That looked like that was quite painful for Andy Murray as he tried to make that forehand. You could see him in visible discomfort there and now just showing some anguish on his face.

That is just a reminder of why he couldn't play best of five-set singles.

Hmmmm. We knew Andy Murray was struggling with a back injury - that's why he's not playing singles - but there's already concern just three games in here.

Rinky Hijikata holds to 15 as Murray winces and walks in the opposite direction to the ball at the end of the game.

Worrying signs but he's not going to give up without a fight here.

    'Will to win'.

Andy Murray's tennis epitaph and the obvious title for a cracking BBC Sport documentary released last week.

That desire is omnipresent in the former world number one.

We see it again when he threads a winner through the Australian pair.

The Murray brothers will have to wait a little longer to get this over the line as a fine return from John Peers brings it back to 40-30.

Centre Court celebrates as Jamie Murray volleys at the net and it looks to seal the game but Peers scrambles and digs out a return only for Andy to fire down the middle.

    On the board!
