Court One was packed for the end of Alex de Minaur's match with Arthur Fils.

That one ended with fireworks and there was never a good moment to quickly pop out to the loo, or to get some refreshments.

No surprises then that the court is pretty sparsely covered as Yulia Putintseva and Jelena Ostapenko warm up. But we should fill up again soon.

A trickle of applause signals the arrival of Yulia Putintseva and Jelena Ostapenko on court one, which still has its roof closed in anticipation of rain.

This pair have played each other four times previously, winning two each, but it is their first meeting on grass.

A large ooh from the Centre Court crowd in that last game as Taylor Fritz makes anyone who has ever picked up a racquet feel much better about their own game with a wild swipe and a complete miss of the ball with an air shot.

David Franks: Re coaching just discussed by BBC tennis team, perhaps a good compromise would be that coaches can use signals any-time but no vocal-instruction, as what they say may unfairly put the opponent off.

A rare double fault from Alexander Zverev, who is playing while wearing a knee support on his left knee, gives Taylor Fritz a glimmer of hope, before some great variety from the German fourth seed.

Zverev produced a lovely cross-court winner and then a deft volley, It has been a match of few chances and even taking his opponent to deuce, but then no further, feels like a missed opportunity for Fritz.

Let’s hear from Alex De Minaur who reaches the quarter-finals of Wimbledon for the first time:

    Firstly, are you ok?

“I’ll be alright. I’ll find a way. Thank you guys. The atmosphere was unbelievable . I can be proud of myself to be in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon, playing in front of you guys, so thank you.”

What pleased you most about your performance?

"Getting over the finish line. I definitely made it a lot harder than I should have. Happy to get through. Great job mentally to stay with it even though I couldn’t serve at the end. I couldn’t hold my serve, I just backed my returns instead and on to the next."

Next – Rune or Djokovic – both of who you’ve beaten in the past:

"I’m just excited to be in the quarter-finals, have another battle and give myself a shot. One thing you can definitely count on is me going out there, trying my hardest and playing my heart out.

Alex de Minaur can barely acknowledge the Court One crowd. He hobbles over to the net to shake Arthur Fil's hand before dropping into his seat.

He and Fils have just played a properly epic match and are both getting a superb reception.

Ah. There is some concern here for the fitness of Alex de Minaur.

The Australian can be seen pulling up as he played that match-winning shot.

He went back over to his chair and was shaking his head in the direction of his coaching box.

Let's see if he has anything to say on that when he is interviewed on court in a moment.

A place in the quarter-finals against either second seed Novak Djokovic or 15th seed Holger Rune awaits.
