We all know how good Alexander Zverev's serve is.

But his stats at the All England Club over the past week have been remarkable.

The lanky German has not dropped serve once. No other man has won 100% of his service games.

In fact, Zverev has only conceded five break points - and he's the only man to have saved 100% of the ones he has faced.

Lots of oohs and ahhs on Centre Court after Taylor Fritz wins a slightly more unconvincing service game against Alexander Zverev.

The American punches the air after a forehand winner makes it 30 on Zverev's serve but the German goes up through the gears to win the game. There's not much between these two players at the moment.

    Fils 2-6 4-6 6-4 3-5 De Minaur*

Arthur Fils really has played some exquisite tennis today but it just hasn't happened consistently enough.

A well-worked serve and volley winner is quickly forgotten about as he swipes into the net. 30-30.

Another unforced error hands Alex de Minaur a first look at match point.

I've made it on to Court One now and have been hit by this cracking atmosphere under the roof.

Right in front of me are about a dozen fans all in various Australian team kits. They were cheering every single Alex De Minaur point from that last service game, with many getting a double fist pump.

They're a lot quieter now though after that double fault.

It is a very tight game for Alex. The footwork just stopped operating.

Arthur Fils is caught flat-footed and can't return Alex de Minaur's second serve. 15-0.

But the Frenchman, as he has does on several occasions in these pressure moments, refuses to back down and gets to 30-30.

He has a chance to break with De Minaur's backhand straying long.

Oh no, a double fault from De Minaur hands Fils the break.

Henry Patten and Olivia Nicholls have beaten fellow wildcards Julian Cash and Maia Lumsden 7-5 7-6 (7-5) in the first round of the mixed doubles on court 18.

Saturday is normally the day when the Royal Box on Centre Court is packed with sportsmen and women, but there's a great number of golfers around today, with Luke Donald, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrrell Hatton, Shane Lowry and Robert MacIntyre among those in attendance.

Former England cricket captain David Gower is also here, as is comedian and actor Sir Lenny Henry (pictured below).

Gritty tennis from Alexander Zverev, who was far from his best in that first set but he closes it out with a service game to love.

    Court One

One of the quirks of following a tennis match at the ground, as opposed to many other sports, is that there's a very narrow window to get to your seat.

You're only really supposed to go through your gate and up or down the stairs to your spot at a change of ends. Otherwise, you may distract the players.

I was late to Court One though, so I'm currently following things on a TV screen just outside.

You could hear the cheers after Arthur Fils broke back. Infuriating!

  12. De Minaur to serve for the matchpublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 8 July

    Fils 2-6 4-6 6-4 2-5 De Minaur*

Alex de Minaur shows great athleticism to reach a drop shot and beautifully return with a backhand slice to lead 30-15.

Now the Australian is chasing a third break of this fourth set and he has two attempts to secure it.

He can't make it first time but an overcooked Arthur Fils forehand means De Minaur will serve for the match.

I have to say Taylor Fritz is really timing the ball well. He’s getting his racket on the ball on some really tough shots.

    Marion Bartoli

I do like Zverev from the back of the court. I think his backhand and the purity of his shots is just going to ultimately get the best of Taylor Fritz.

Fritz has been improving in his movement and he’s just making Zverev play those extra balls that can cause mistakes from him.

Now then, Alexander Zverev has the bit between his teeth and some powerful ground strokes give him a couple of break points at 15-40.

The first is saved by Taylor Fritz before the German grabs his chance with a powerful backhand which leaves the American swiping at thin air.

Just when you think Arthur Fils is running out of steam, having been broken twice in this fourth set, the Frenchman finds a way to drag himself back into contention.

Fils still has plenty of work to do but he closes the gap and with a break of serve.

    Fritz 4-4 Zverev*

Alexander Zverev's movement is inhibiting him somewhat. He reluctantly comes to the net but fluffs a drop shot. Deuce, and a bit of an opening for Taylor Fritz.

However, Zverev steps it on his serve and wins back-to-back points to take the game.

A terrible start from Alex de Minaur on serve as he concedes three points in a row.

But the response is something to behold, De Minaur wins five points in a row to hold.

And De Minaur carries that momentum into the next game, competing with Arthur Fils point-for-point until eventually volleying to break.

A double break in the fourth set and De Minaur is back in the driving seat.

  20. 'Mental boost for De Minaur'published at 15:40 British Summer Time 8 July

    *Fils 2-6 4-6 6-4 1-3 De Minaur

    Jeff Tarango
Former American tennis player on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds

This is two games in a row now that the Aussie has struggled on serve and faced break points. This has got to be a huge mental boost for him.

The way he swatted that ball over the net after holding serve shows me 'thank god I got through that' and now he's going to play this return game with a lot less pressure.
