Despite struggling on second serve today, Alex de Minaur's first serve has been the difference-maker in this match.

He uses it to great effect to hold to love here.

Novak Djokovic is now taking up the practice courts with a racquet in his hand.

He's got plenty of fans here watching and waiting for him to strike the ball and as he does... everyone takes a picture.

He's still got a strap on that right leg, but seems to be moving OK.

The 37-year-old is going for an eighth Wimbledon title and record 25th Grand Slam overall.

What a great first set for Svitolina. She was so buzzy and sharp. Her serve has been working wonderfully well, with four aces, and she’s really bossing this.

After winning a thrilling point, Arthur Fils waved his arms around urging for more noise and support from the Court One crowd, which they are happy to provide.

He manages to survive some danger in the fifth game of the third set, but still finds himself a break down.

    Fils 2-6 4-6 2-3 De Minaur*

If you're going to attempt a 'tweener' when trailing two sets and down a break in the third then you need to pull it off... unfortunately for Arthur Fils that isn't the case as he goes wide.

Alex de Minaur goes on to hold and is in a strong position to continue his run of winning matches in three sets.

Tenacious play from Fils who forces De Minaur wide with a backhand slice and then wraps up the point with a net volley. 30-15.

A double fault lets De Minaur back in at deuce but Fils recovers well to hold.

Let's hear from former champion Elena Rybakina, who advances to the quarter-final after Anna Kalinskaya retired in the second set:

Not the way you wanted to win?

"Definitely not the way I wanted to finish the match. She’s a great player and I know she was suffering with a couple of injuries. If it’s the wrist it’s difficult to continue to play and I just wish her a speedy recovery."

Seemed to be in control of serving and the rest of your game?

"My serve helps me a lot and especially when the roof is closed there is no wind, no conditions and it is perfect for my game and I’m really happy the way I played the last two matches. I really enjoyed my time here. Thank you so much guys for coming and supporting us."

Highest ranked and former champ – extra pressure?

"Well I don’t feel pressure. Every opponent is difficult and I know that I must always bring my best and that’s what I try to do form every match.

"I’m just really enjoying every time I step out on the court and I am happy I am going fine in the draw and hopefully I can go to the end."

  11. De Minaur breaks early in thirdpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 8 July

    Fils 2-6 4-6 1-2 De Minaur*

A comfortable hold to love for Arthur Fils - just the second time he's managed that in this match - to get the third and potentially deciding set under way.

Alex de Minaur strikes back with a hold of his own. It's the first time in this match that we haven't had a break in the opening two games of the set.

More frustration for Fils as he is broken in the third game. He needs to hit back immediately or this could be over soon.

Elena Rybakina opens up a double break with some ruthless play, before the umpire confirms Anna Kalinskaya has retired through injury.

Such a disappointing way to end the match given the fine exchanges in the early games.

    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Alex de Minaur is two thirds of the way to making the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the first time in his career.

He maintains his record of not losing a set at this year's championships but had to recover well from being 3-0 down with Arthur Fils unable to capitalise on the break he had created.

The winner of this one faces either 15th seed Holger Rune of Denmark or a certain Novak Djokovic, the 24-time Grand Slam champion and a winner here seven times.

Fils won in five sets in round three, he's going to have to do the same again if he is to make it past round four.
