Gloucestershire in pics: EMF, penguins and rugby

It's been a busy week in Gloucestershire from penguin popularity contests to a local indie band being honoured and rugby success.

All of this has happened under (largely) sunny skies which have also created some lovely pictures on their own.

Penguins stood around on a concrete ground at Birdland.

Like a fine wine: Seth the penguin, who lives at Birdland Park and Gardens in Bourton-on-the-Water, has been in the spotlight this week. Not only is he thought to be the oldest king penguin in the world at 40 years of age, he is currently in a competition to become the world's most popular penguin!

Let's hear it for the GIRLS: Gloucester-Hartpury won their third Premiership Women's Rugby title in a row on Sunday. Gloucester-Hartpury head of rugby Sean Lynn told BBC Radio 5 Live: "It's a dream come true [to win our third title], honestly. To have so many friends and family with me, it's an amazing experience."

Unbelievable: It was a big day for the 90s band EMF on Tuesday as they were honoured with a blue plaque in Cinderford to recognise their contribution to music. The band said they were blown away to have the plaque in the town they grew up in.

Feeling like summer: A warm day for Gloucestershire on Thursday as temperatures hit 18 degrees. The stunning blue sky was captured by our weather watcher, 'Tone Poet' in Quedgeley.

Sensational: You can't beat a good sunrise, and this picture taken by weather watcher 'Space Walker' in Gloucester is a perfect example of that.
