Report: More beds needed to ease pressure on hospitals

A leading research group says the NHS in England will struggle this winter unless there are more beds in care homes.

According to the Nuffield Trust, last winter a small proportion of patients, mainly the frail and elderly, took up more than a third of hospital beds.
