UKIP's Nigel Farage on EU rules and Cornwall industry

Nigel Farage said south west England paid far more into Europe than it got back, while his party was the only one with a distinctive voice on fisheries and wind farms, which were "huge issues" affecting the region.

The UKIP leader told Martyn Oates that industries in Cornwall "had been messed about by European rules".

He said getting a "big breakthrough" would be hard for the party under first-past-the-post, but it would perform better in a PR system.

Mr Farage said the party was now "much more professional" and admitted its organisation was previously "a complete shambles... it was a DIY political party".
