Labour's Ed Balls warns of 'staggering' Tory cuts
A Conservative government would make "unprecedented" public spending cuts, shadow chancellor Ed Balls has said.
In a speech, he claimed that the cuts needed to deliver Tory plans would be much larger than stated so far.
''The Tories would, in the next five years, need to make spending cuts which would add up to a staggering total of £70bn,'' he said.
The Conservatives say Labour's plans would lead to "higher taxes and economic chaos".
