Arne Slot has earned 28 points from his first 11 Premier League games in charge of Liverpool (W9 D1 L1), the joint-most by a manager after as many games in the competition along with Guus Hiddink at Chelsea.
Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa: Pragmatic Slotpublished at 22:07 9 November

Some observers will have understandably have seen this as a transitional season for Liverpool from the Jurgen Klopp era to Arne Slot's reign but the Reds are not just ahead of schedule, but looking like serious title contenders.
After Manchester City slipped up against Brighton earlier on Saturday, Liverpool knew they had to take advantage to lay down a real marker.
While it could have been easy to wilt under the pressure of expectation they kept their calm to produce a controlled display against Aston Villa and move five points clear at the top.
Under Klopp, Liverpool played exciting but risky football, largely aiming to out score their opponents to get wins.
But under Slot they are a far more pragmatic side and that was displayed in this cool and calm performance against an Aston Villa team desperate to end their own recent poor run of form.
Goals in each half by Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah got the job done but between them Slot produced good game management to know when to slow the game down.
They are right where they want to be heading into the international break and showing with every game they are very much a strong contender in this title race.

West Ham 0-0 Everton: Toffees indebted to Pickfordpublished at 18:05 9 November

Everton will be the happier of the two teams after bouncing back from last weekend's loss at Southampton with a hard-earned point on their travels, but manager Sean Dyche may feel his side could have emerged from London Stadium with more than just a draw.
The visitors worked themselves into some good positions in the first half in particular, but Iliman Ndiaye's low effort and a Dominic Calvert-Lewin header shortly before half-time failed to trouble Lukasz Fabianski.
Having edged a first half low on quality and cutting edge, Everton faded in the second, and ultimately had goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to thank for preserving the point.
After keeping out Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio in the first half, Pickford saved well from Guido Rodriguez and Danny Ings before producing a magnificent stop to prevent Ings' deflected stoppage-time drive from nestling in the roof of the net.
Everton have now lost only one of their past seven league games, but they have won only one of their past 17 on the road in the top flight, collecting just nine points in the process.
'We need a bit of devil in the final third'published at 17:47 9 November

Sean Dyche spoke to BBC Match of the Day after Everton's draw with West Ham: “There’s a lot of noise at [West Ham] at the moment, which affected the game. It’s another point and clean sheet on the road. With a little bit more in the final third, we’d have had more points this season.
“We had pockets where I thought we were a threat. A lot of our game was good today. We opened up the game when we could and defended resolutely when we had to.
“We just need a bit of devil in the final third and a bit of devil in the box, but it’s not easy in the Premier league.”
Sutton's predictions: Liverpool v Aston Villapublished at 09:28 9 November

Chris Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against a variety of guests.
For week 11 he takes on Mylee and Tate from CBBC football drama Jamie Johnson FC (JJFC), which is set in the world of an elite academy at fictional Premier League club Hawx United.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
It was such a lethargic performance by Aston Villa against Club Brugge on Wednesday. I was expecting far more from them.
Villa will need much more intensity if they are going to compete at Anfield, but the form Arne Slot's side are in means I cannot see past a home win for this one.
There is a lot of speculation about Mohamed Salah’s future at Liverpool, but what isn't in doubt is his quality, and he showed it again with his finish against Brighton last week.
Mylee's prediction: I am going with Liverpool here. 2-0
Tate's prediction: This is going to be tit for tat with one team scoring, then the other - and it will end in a draw. 3-3

West Ham are in trouble. As I said on the Monday Night Club, they don't really have an identity under Julen Lopetegui.
He has always been a pragmatic manager in my eyes but they want to be a more expansive side and he is stuck somewhere in between at the moment.
There is a lot of uncertainty around them at present, and I am certainly not convinced by them at home. They beat Manchester United there a couple of weeks ago, but they were lucky to win that one.
While the Hammers are still above Everton in the table, the Toffees’ had been in better form, but then they lost at struggling Southampton last week, which is a disappointing defeat whichever way you look at it.
The only team Everton have beaten away this season is Ipswich, so I would not feel confident backing them to bounce back with a win here.
I don't want to pick another draw, but this has got one written all over it.
Mylee's prediction: 2-0
I am definitely backing my team here!
Tate's prediction: 1-2
I played for West Ham but they have had a few defeats recently so Everton might edge this.
'We don't talk about expectations'published at 17:03 8 November

Liverpool boss Arne Slot was in relaxed, measured and in somewhat jovial mood when he addressed the media on Friday before his side host Aston Villa on Saturday.
You can understand his demeanour considering his side are top of the Premier League and top of the Champions League group stage in its new format after what has been quite the start to the season for the Dutchman.
Slot put the team's success so far down to the quality and hard work of the squad in response to the demands he places on them, with the result being 14 wins from their opening 16 games.
And, while there might be plenty of talk outside of the Anfield club about their prospects for the season, it is not something being talked about within the inner sanctum of the Reds.
"I'm not trying to manage expectations with the squad because we don't talk about expectations," said Slot.
"The only expectations I have is that they put the same effort in on a daily basis like they've done for the last few months, and probably for the past six or seven years. That's the only thing we focus on."
Slot gave a laugh when the contract situations of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, whose deals all expire in the summer, was brought up.
Questions about the futures of the trio have become routine and Slot has become more than adept at dealing with them.
"In general, contract situations are talked about by the people who should talk about it," he said.
"I'm one of them but I should not talk about this in public. I do talk about this with [sporting director] Richard [Hughes]. That's the place that we have to talk about it and not in front of a microphone."
