    A number of schools have got in touch with BBC Radio Cambridgeshire to say they are closed today.

  2. Disruption 'until the end of the day' on Greater Angliapublished at 08:32 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2018

    Train operator Greater Anglia says that it expects there to be disruptions on its services until "the end of the day".

    It's due to adverse weather conditions across the east of England.

    There are no services on the following routes:

    • Marks Tey - Sudbury
    • Witham- Braintree
    • Norwich - Great Yarmouth
    • Norwich - Lowestoft
    • Norwich - Sheringham
    • Ipswich - Lowestoft
    • Ipswich - Felixstowe

    They also say that no replacement bus services are available.

    Police are asking drivers to take care and drive slowly after an early morning crash on the snowy A1307 at Withersfield.

    One of the vehicles involved ended up in an icy ditch, but Suffolk Police said luckily there were only minor injuries.

    Highways England says the A11 is blocked in both directions between the B1135 and A47.

    It's due to a number of vehicles that are stranded following the wintry weather.

    Police are working to clear the vehicles, but motorists are also advised of long delays on the approach.

    Peterborough United players had to clear snow off the pitch during their League One match with Walsall at the Abax Stadium, last night.

    Posh came from behind to win the match 2-1, but a three minute delay was needed to clear markings on the pitch after heavy snow fell in the city.

  12. Hospital staff in Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire warned about travellingpublished at 07:38 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2018

    Hospital staff in parts of the East of the England are being told to work at other sites rather than risk travelling to their usual base if road conditions are bad.

    The North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Peterborough City Hospital, Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, and Stamford and Rutland Hospital in Lincolnshire, tweeted an urgent message telling its staff to go to their "nearest hospital, even if it's not your usual base, rather than risk travelling further in the snow".

    Train operator Greater Anglia is reporting "major disruption" to its services following heavy snowfall.

    Their trains into and out of Braintree, Cambridge, Clacton-on-Sea, Hertford East, Ipswich, Norwich, Southend Victoria, Southminster and Stansted Airport are all affected.

  19. Collision closes three lanes of M1published at 07:06 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2018

    There are long delays on the M1 southbound after two vehicles crashed earlier.

    Highways England says lanes two, three and four have been closed between junction eight for Hemel Hempstead and junction six for the M25 while they recover the vehicles.

    Traffic is queuing as far back as junction 11 for Dunstable.
