    Quote Message

We want a well resourced, thorough, timely investigation. Investigations in some cases have taken three of four years - totally unsatisfactory. Thankfully we've been informed by the IPCC [Independent Police Complaints Commission] that they hope to have this investigation within a nine-month time frame.

  17. London services back to normal after derailmentpublished at 08:35 British Summer Time 19 September 2016

Normal service has resumed on services in and out of London following a derailment near Watford on Friday, says Network Rail.

Route managing director, Martin Frobisher, said engineers had made "good progress" over the weekend, clearing debris off the tracks and removing damaged trains from the tunnel.

Services in the Midlands were disrupted for hours on Friday, with further unrelated incidents adding to the problems. A line through Warwickshire was affected by a fallen tree, while in Birmingham, issues with overhead wires meant evening rush hour delays.
