Post deliveries have been suspended to a West Bromwich street for a fortnight because of fears over a dog living there.
Royal Mail has stamped the ban on Cardigan Close in Hateley Heath, writing a letter to residents highlighting the "unacceptable level of risk" with deliveries.
A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “It’s been about two weeks that we haven’t had any mail. The post office says that deliveries have been suspended until they're sure workers are safe."
Residents are going to the sorting office in Lyng Lane for their post, a 30 minute walk away.
Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for public protection Councillor Preet Gill said: “The dog warden has been to the property to speak to the dog’s owner who has agreed to keep it muzzled and on a lead."
The owners of a derelict college in Smethwick - which has been hit by arson four times in five months - have been ordered to draft in 24-hour security.
The owners of the former Sandwell College site were warned that if it didn't the council would do it for them and then claim back the costs.
Smethwick councillor Richard Marshall said he believed the previous fire left the Grade-II listed college building in need of urgent repair.
The roof and first floor suffered "severe damage" in the latest fire and the college has said it will get the roof repaired.
The building has been empty for about three years since the college moved to new premises in West Bromwich.

Warwickshire will be hoping to shift the momentum in their favour today as they resume their potential relegation deciding game against Lancashire at Edgbaston.
The visitors took charge on the first day of the match, bowling out the Bears for 219 with only Sam Hain passing 50.
If Hampshire beat Durham, a scenario which looks more likely after the hosts closed on 370-6 at Southampton, then the losers of this match will go down.
