    Breaking

    Two men have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life over a fire at an Amazon warehouse.

    Police were called to the online retailer's site in Rugeley just after 02:10 yesterday and all staff were evacuated.

    A 19-year-old man from Birmingham, arrested yesterday, has been bailed pending further inquiries.

    A second man, 21, from Wednesbury, was arrested this morning and remains in custody.

    Staffordshire Police says it is keeping Amazon management updated on developments.

    There was some damage to the retailer's stock.

    It's Children in Need on Friday and one Midlands radio presenter has decided to do a 250-mile tandem bike ride around the region to raise money. 

    BBC WM's Richie Anderson has been in training with a little help from Pudsey and today he set off from the BBC studios in Birmingham on the first leg of his journey.

  8. Fire damages Amazon warehouse in Rugeleypublished at 11:27 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November 2016

    One of Amazon's main UK warehouses has been damaged in a fire.

    The fire at the 700,000 sq ft depot in Rugeley, Staffordshire, which started at 02:15, was contained to a second floor area.

    There was some damage to some racking and the internet retailer's stock - mainly clothing.

    Cannock fire station manager Tim Hollingworth said the cause was being investigated.
