    A group of volunteer refuse collectors have returned to the streets of Birmingham as the city's bin dispute continues.

    Naveed Sadiq is part of the Bearded Broz collective and says he's faced verbal abuse from bin men in the city who remain on strike amid a row with the council.

    Previously, the group has been labelled a "scab army" for helping remove Birmingham's uncollected bin bags. Second time around, the group, external says it's unable to empty everyone's bins and is now prioritising the needs of elderly and vulnerable people.

    A spokesperson for Birmingham City Council said it wanted "to offer the best possible refuse collection service for citizens and wants to work with Unite".

    Unite, the union representing the striking workers, has taken the battle to the High Court.

    A report by Healthwatch Staffordshire has highlighted a severe shortage of neurologists in several parts of the region - particularly in Staffordshire, Shropshire and Walsall.

    It finds that patients with Parkinson's, Motor Neurone Disease and Multiple Sclerosis are failing to receive the right levels of care.

    A man aged 24 is being treated in hospital for gun shot wounds to his leg after a "verbal altercation" in Birmingham yesterday afternoon.

    A group of volunteers who teamed up to clear rubbish from the streets of Birmingham say they are back to get stuck into the bin bag backlog.

    The Bearded Broz were hard at it in August but called off their clear-up when refuse workers' industrial action was suspended.

    The group says this time it is prioritising the rubbish of elderly and vulnerable people.

    Almost all Midlands prisons are overcrowded - with some having almost three times as many inmates than they were planned for.

    Figures from the Ministry of Justice, external reveal that Oakwood, Stafford and Dovegate are at full capacity, with Oakwood housing almost 500 more inmates than it was designed to.

    Drivers say are facing a driving nightmare after being stuck in traffic "for hours" after a multi vehicle crash on the M6 southbound at about 06:00 this morning.

    The crash involved three HGVs and a car which fell from a transporter between junctions 10 and 9.

    Highways England expects delays to continue this morning as it is unable to move one of the HGVs due to damage.

    Laura Elen says she's "not moved for two hours".

    Delays continue on the M6 southbound after a three vehicle crash between junctions 10 and 9.

    Drivers are warned that they could face delays, external of up to two hours after the carriageway closed.

    One lane has been re-opened to allow held traffic to pass though two lanes remain closed.

    Part of the M6 southbound is closed after a crash involving two HGVs and a car.

    The crash happened at about 06:15 between junction 10 for Walsall and junction 9 near Wednesbury southbound.

    There were no injuries, West Midlands Police, external said.
