    Worcester residents say they're worried about where they will park if more single yellow lines are painted on the roads.

    Worcestershire Council is considering adding them to London Road, the A38 Droitwich Road and Bromyard Road, some of which is residential, saying traffic is being held up by parked cars.

    The council will make a decision over the coming weeks, and if it goes ahead the restrictions would apply from 07:00 to 19:00, Monday to Saturday.

    Four firefighters who died as they tackled a blaze at a Warwickshire warehouse are being remembered.

    The deaths of the men are the greatest loss of life among British firefighters in a single incident in more than 45 years.

    Stations across Warwickshire will have their flags lowered to half-mast and a two minute silence will be observed at 19:28, with crews from Stratford-upon-Avon and Alcester standing outside their respective stations in remembrance.

    Funding worth £250,000 is to be made available to organisations in Birmingham aimed at ensuring children don't get involved in gang violence, the police and crime commissioner (PCC) has announced.

    David Jamieson said he is inviting community groups to bid for the funding to provide activities for children in areas with high levels of crime.

    The cash is part of the PCC's £2m investment over two years announced last December.

    Gun crime has increased almost 50% since 2012, and knife crime has risen by 75% over the same period, he said.

    Some war veterans may struggle with the bangs and flashes from firework displays this weekend, Combat Stress is warning.

    The charity, which has a base in Newport, Shropshire, says fireworks can cause "serious anguish" for people suffering post traumatic stress disorder and has put together a series of tips for those at risk.

    Tips include planning evenings carefully, identifying things that may trigger flashbacks and finding people to talk with during the displays.

    Nick Hawkins is the new owner of the sixth-tier club Nuneaton Borough.

    This is what we know about him.

    • Began his football career with Nottingham Forest, before going on to play non-league football at various clubs: Goole AFC, Shepshed Dynamo, Hucknall Town, Gresley Rovers, Long Eaton United, Dunkirk and Leicester Road, for whom he is still playing.

    A motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a car in Hereford yesterday.

    He was flown to a specialist trauma centre in Bristol after the crash on Hinton Road at around 16:00.

    The road was closed from the ASDA roundabout to Holme Lacy Road for more than four hours causing long delays.

    A change in the legislation governing health care providers is needed to make it easier to transform health care in Dudley, says the chief executive behind a £5bn scheme.

    Dudley is the first place in the country to try to pool health and social services budgets in a new organisation with a 15-year contract.

    Two men have been arrested after a shotgun, cocaine and cannabis was recovered from a house in Bedworth.

    The men, aged 20 and 23, were detained after a pre-planned raid on a house in Melbourne Court, Croft Pool, Warwickshire Police said.

    They're being held on suspicion of possession of a firearm, cannabis and possession of cocaine with intent to supply.

    A lifesize cake of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is on display in Birmingham from today.

    Amateur baker Lara Mason from Brownhills made the cake back in May to celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle.

    The royal couple are made of 15kg each of flour, butter and sugar, 20kg of modelling chocolate and 50kg of fondant.

    A roll of honour, featuring the names of more than 4,000 men and women from Wolverhampton who died during World War One, is on display.

    The roll, put together by staff and volunteers at the city's archive, recognises soldiers and civilians who died contributing to the war effort.

    The display can be seen at the Civic Centre.

    A scheme to divert young people away from criminal behaviour has been set up in memory of a man who was stabbed to death.

    James Brindley, 26, was knifed in the heart 400m from his parents' home in Aldridge, Walsall, West Midlands.

    His parents, Mark and Beverley Brindley, have set up the "James Brindley Full Circle", aimed at addressing the causes of crime.

    Ammar Kahrod, 17, from Aldridge, was sentenced to life in prison for James's murder.

    A live chicken was set loose in a Weoley Castle shop by a group of youths on Wednesday who were also setting off fireworks, police said.

    It was just one example of around 500 extra emergency calls in 24 hours over the Halloween period, West Midlands Police said.

    Extra resources were drafted in to cope with the "huge spike" in calls, as it dealt with 2,438 calls on the 999 lines, along with 3,023 calls to 101.

    The RSPCA were called to take care of the bird.

    An underground culvert was responsible , externalfor a road collapsing in Aston, Shropshire.

    The junction between Greenvale and Dark Lane sits on top of a brick-built tunnel, possibly commissioned by the Duke of Sutherland in either the 1820s or 1830s to supply water to nearby pools.

    A larger section of the culvert will be excavated before inserting concrete sections to make it safe.

    The work is likely to mean the road will be closed until late November.

    Walsall, Stoke-on-Trent and Wolverhampton have all been named in a list of top ten unhealthiest high streets.

    The Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) looked at 70 UK towns and cities and ranked high streets with more payday lenders, bookmakers, tanning salons and fast food outlets the worst.

    Each business was scored on the basis of whether it encouraged healthy lifestyle choices, promoted social interaction and greater access to health services.

    Shrewsbury was amongst the best, with leisure centres, health services, libraries and museums and art galleries all considered as good for people.
