    The League Against Cruel Sports is attempting to get the Ledbury Hunt meet banned from the centre of the market town.

    It has written to Herefordshire Council to say “large groups of hunt riders and hounds meeting creates a health and safety hazard" and claims "it is only a matter of time before somebody is injured as a direct result of these chaotic scenes".

    The hunt said it agrees road closures and safety measures ahead of it's Boxing Day gathering in the High Street and that the event was "a special day for the rural community".

    Herefordshire Council says it's received the letter, but that it always considers the public safety and traffic implications before allowing the event to go ahead.

    There are plans to revamp Longton Station in Stoke-on-Trent and commuters and local businesses are being asked for their ideas.

    The North Staffordshire Community Rail Partnership is working with train operator East Midlands Trains to improve the station building and the pavement around it.

    A Black Country park is getting £1.4m for an upgrade.

    Stevens Park in Quarry Bank has been given the Heritage Lottery Fund cash to improve access to its Grade II listed peace gardens, as well as revamping the bandstand and gates.

    A nearby building will also be turned into a community cafe and host the Emily Jordan Foundation; a charity which supports people with learning disabilities.

    It's among six parks in England to have been awarded a total of £13.8m in Lottery cash.

    The new owners of Bredenbury Court near Bromyard, which was home to St Richard's School, have applied for planning permission to turn it into a hotel and wedding venue with 50 bedrooms.

    Unique Venues wants to demolish the sports hall and replace it with a new building, as well as making major internal changes to the former boarding and day school.

    Consultation runs until 1 February, but a decision on the plans isn't expected until next year.

    Crewe Alexandra say they've missed out on a loan deal for a Championship defender - because he has signed for a League Two rival.

    The Black Country Living Museum has received funding towards its new multi million-pound project.

    The venue plans to create a new 'historic town' attraction, set between the 1940s and 1960s, at a cost of £23m.

    The £90,000 government funding will go towards the relocation of cast iron houses.

    A Nuneaton hospital is restricting visitors to its Acute Medical Unit , externalafter increased levels of diarrhoea and vomiting among patients.

    George Eliot Hospital is asking family and friends to avoid visiting the affected ward wherever possible.

    Visiting on compassionate grounds may be possible at the discretion of the nurse in charge, it says.

    The park-and-ride terminal in Stratford-upon-Avon has been closed , externaldue to travellers setting up on the site.

    Buses will not make the stop on either outward or inward journeys, but otherwise follow the normal route, says Warwickshire County Council.

    Police are working with the authority to resolve the situation.
