A second day of strike action is being held by union members at the University of Birmingham.
Caterers, cleaners and security guards also walked out on Monday, with the Unison union calling for them to be paid the living wage.

Unison has rejected an offer by the university for a 1% lump sum payment.

A CQC report, external, published today, said the site was "reliant on unqualified agency staff" and didn't properly keep track of the health of its 39 patients.
The CQC says the hospital cares for men with learning difficulties, autism and other complex needs. Part of the problem, it said, was that 40% of support and nurse posts were vacant at the time of the inspection between 18 and 20 June.
Elysium Healthcare, which manages the hospital, says it has put in place an immediate action plan which sets out how it can better support staff and patients.
The "intelligence-led" arrests happened at separate addresses earlier, police say.

A team employed by Worcestershire County Council has uncovered military equipment and ammunition from the battle while work is under way on the city's Southern Link Road.

A man and a teenager have been arrested in Rugby on suspicion of terror offences.
The pair - a 62-year-old man and 16-year-old boy - were arrested from separate addresses, and believed to have been involved in the commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism.
West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit is conducting the investigation with the support of Warwickshire Police.
The arrests were pre-planned and intelligence-led, it said.
A clean-up operation is underway at the scene of a lorry fire on the M6 in Staffordshire.
The "ferocious" fire, involving a load of empty plastic bottles and cans, broke out at about 03:15 said Highways England.
There are currently delays of an hour with the closure on the northbound carriageway between J14 to J16 expected to last throughout the morning.
Resurfacing work needs to be carried out on the M6 in Staffordshire after an earlier lorry fire.
The northbound carriageway remains closed from J14 to J16 after the fire started at about 03:15.
Frank Bird from Highways England said the lorry was burning for nearly four hours before being put out.
"There was a lot of heat damage so it's very likely that some of the surface may need to be ripped up and then resurfaced during the day," he said.
The load of empty plastic bottles and cans made for a "ferocious" blaze, he added.

Bridgnorth Civic Society's made the move , externalto try and increase the number of places people can get relief.
Last year, the BBC found public toilet provision had declined across the UK.
More than 400 airline passengers have been arrested in the past two years on suspicion of being drunk, data shows.
Thirty-nine people were arrested on a plane or at Birmingham Airport between April 2017 and March 2019.
Those convicted can face a fine of up to £5,000 or two years' imprisonment.
Trade body Airlines UK, has called for airport bars and duty-free to be licensed in the same way as pubs or restuarants on the high street.

There are serious delays in the area with six miles of queuing traffic before J13 with southbound traffic also slow.
The A449 Moss Pit is also busy as traffic attempts to divert through Stafford.
Work is continuing to damp down the scene and await recovery, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said.

New records for turnover, machine sales and earnings were broken last year, construction firm JCB said.
The Staffordshire-based company has revealed sales rose by 22% to £4.1bn, while earnings rose to £447m.
India remained the company's largest market in 2018.
However, it says that despite doing so well, growth this year has now stalled with many markets softening.

A lorry fire has closed the northbound carriageway of the M6 in Staffordshire.
The road from Stafford through Crewe is expected to remain closed throughout the morning.
The fire is deep seated in the trailer of the lorry, said the fire service, and crews are using a digger to remove goods from it.
The northbound closure, which started at about 03:30, is from J14 through to 16 with all surrounding routes congested.
