  1. Crews in gas-tight suits examine M6 chemical spillpublished at 08:34 British Summer Time 18 July 2016

    The fire service says crews used gas-tight suits to survey a lorry which leaked sulphuric acid on to the carriageway of the M6., external

    West Midlands Fire Service was called at 05:20 and liaised with the National Chemical Emergency Centre to deal with the spill, thought to be from a container holding 1,400 litres of the chemical.

  5. Travel: Acid spill on M6 causes major road disruptionpublished at 08:01 British Summer Time 18 July 2016

    A spillage of sulphuric acid from a lorry closed the M6 southbound between J4a, for the M42 and J4, for the M42 (Coleshill).

    Travel time is at least 100 minutes, with congestion to J6, for the A38(M) Spaghetti Junction.
