    The men, aged 38 and 40, were detained at separate properties this morning.

    Both are being questioned on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism offences.

    A former kit manager at Coventry City’s Academy has been jailed for 20 months, external for sending explicit photos and movies to two young girls – one he believed to be just 12 years old.

    Tony Shiels was sentenced on Wednesday after admitting contacting the children on social media and asking if they wanted to have sex with him.

    The cost of diabetes is the highest in north Warwickshire than anywhere else in England. , external

    That's according to latest figures from NHS Digital which has found that diabetes drugs now cost the NHS nearly £1bn a year - almost double the amount a decade ago. 

    In north Warwickshire the cost per person treated in 2014/15 was £415 - the highest in England - compared to the of lowest £239 per person in Northumberland.

    The West Midlands has the highest proportion of people living with the condition, where 7.5% of those over 17 are diabetic.

    A extraordinary meeting calling for the resignation of Coventry city councillor, Glenn Willliams, is underway. 

    He left the Conservative party after becoming involved in a 'race row' over comments made over social media.

    He now sits as an independent councilor for the Bablake ward. 

    Addressing the meeting Mr Williams said he wasn't going to resign and that it was up to the residents of Bablake who elected him in the first place.

    Two young pigs found wandering the streets of a village near Tamworth have been rehomed.

    They've been found a new place to 'sty' with help from Warwickshire Police's Rural Watch Co-Ordinator.     

    The pottering porkers were first spotted roaming the streets four weeks ago but no-one has reported them missing.

    An MEP for the West Midlands, and Dudley councillor, has made the shortlist of six to become leader of UKIP.

    Bill Etheridge, who's 46, has said UKIP should stick by its "core principles and values" and not be "distracted by negative influences".

    He has called for major reform of the penal system, including restricting prisoners' privileges, banning visits during the first six months of a sentence and an automatic 10-year increase in sentence for anyone attacking a prison officer.

    He also backs far-reaching changes to the tax system, including a 50% cut in alcohol and tobacco duty, replacing VAT with a local sales tax and gradually merging national insurance and income taxes.

    North Warwickshire is going to have to find space for more than 9,000 new homes if the local plan for the area gets the go ahead. , external

    It's being set out by the borough council at a meeting later but would still have to go to public consultation.

    But the Labour opposition on the council doubts the infrastructure is in place for so many new homes.
