    After two spells over eight months that brought two goals in 22 appearances, the chances of Joe Cole returning to Coventry City appear slim.

    Sky Blues fans have been giving their opinions, external on the former Aston Villa, Chelsea and West Ham midfielder donning the City shirt again following the end of his stint playing for North American Soccer League side Tampa Bay Rowdies.

    The 35-year-old, who won 56 caps for England, rolled back the years for the Florida-based club scoring nine times.

    But Sky Blues interim boss Mark Venus does not appear set bring Cole back to the League One club on loan in January.

    "I haven't explored that option to be honest," he told BBC Coventry and Warwickshire.

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was hit by a lorry in Rugby, external.

    A man in his 30s sustained serious injuries in the collision on the A426 near to Toft Lakes in Dunchurch on Friday 4 November.

    Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnesses the incident.

    Paralympian and World Championship medallist Kare Adenegan will be at the Ricoh Arena as the special guest ahead of the side's League One fixture against Scunthorpe on Saturday.

    The Coventry wheelchair racer won one silver and two bronze medals in Rio.

    A woman managed to escape from a robber by flagging down a taxi after being threatened by him with what police describe as an "American police-style baton", in Nuneaton.

    Police say, external the woman in her 40s was at a bus stop on Coventry Road around 22:15 on Saturday when she was approached by the man dressed in black, who demanded her handbag.

    After attempting to flag down drivers in the road, she managed to hail a passing black cab.

    Plans to move voters in Warwick into a new constituency with Stratford are being aired at a public meeting in Leamington Spa. , external

    The move's being suggested by the Boundary Commission, external as a way of cutting the number of MP's at Westminster. 

    It would also see Leamington pair with Kenilworth.

    Mark Venus continued to press his claims for the permanent manager's job at the Sky Blues with a victory at Wycombe last night. 

    The 4-2 win was enough to ensure the City topped their group in the EFL Trophy.  

    It means Coventry will have a home tie against Crawley in the first knockout stage of the competition.

    A four-strong gang threatened residents in their Nuneaton home, attacking one and stealing cash.

    A man in his 30s suffered injuries to his face during the incident on Granby Road at around 20:30 yesterday. 

    Police say the burglars threatened residents with a weapon, before leaving with a quantity of money.

    Around 200 attacks on wildlife in Warwickshire and Worcestershire have been registered in the last eight months.

    Figures released by Warwickshire Police show offences included cruelty and the unlawful killing of wild animals and birds. 

    A new scheme Warwickshire Wildlife Watchers, external has now been set up to raise awareness of this type of crime and help the authorities to take action against offenders.

    Volunteers at Upton House in Warwickshire are attempting to break the World Record for the longest line of knitted bunting.

    Mary Berry visit the National Trust property today supporting the "knitting for victory" campaign.

    The bunting will eventually be turned into blankets as part of Crisis Coventry's Christmas campaign.
