    Skills should be at the forefront of the UK's industrial strategy according to the vice-chancellor of Coventry University.

    Invited in his role as chair of the University Alliance, Mr Latham told MPs that the skills agenda needed to be "ahead of the curve" of the strategy, not following behind.

  9. 'Increasing concern' for missing Stratford manpublished at 11:47 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2016

    The search is continuing for a 57-year-old man who was reported missing in Stratford yesterday, external.

    Brendan Twissell, who has Down's syndrome, was reported missing shortly after 10:30 after he left a community care group in The Avenue in Bishopton, police say.

    Officers, search dogs and the police helicopter were deployed to look for Mr Twissell.

  10. Taxi drivers' call will be listened to, say councilpublished at 11:25 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2016

    The councillor in charge of taxis in Coventry says she will listen to taxi drivers who say they want the rank on the Burges in the city restored.

    Drivers say they still use it, but because it's not an official rank, they're being fined if they're found there.  

    Councillors are meeting taxi-drivers this morning to discuss their concerns.

    Menswear firm, Salters, closed six months ago when its owner decided to sell up. 

    Now a former employee is relaunching the wedding hire side of the business.

    Coventry is one of the best cities in the UK to live and work, according to a report out this morning. 

    The Good Growth report, external by accountants PwC and the think-tank Demos is based on 10 categories, ranging from economic success to family well-being.
