    Jaguar Land Rover sold a record 583,312 cars last year, a 20% increase on last year, external.

    There was particularly strong demand for its new high-end luxury Jaguar model, the F-PACE.

    Chief executive Dr Ralf Speth said last year that the company wanted to double production from 500,000 to one million cars a year, but that it would depend on government support.

    Plans to trial the use of former London underground trains on the Nuneaton to Coventry line have been shelved after a fire during a test run in December

    London Midland, along with its partners Warwickshire and Coventry councils, pulled the plug on the Vivarail trial - due to get under way next month - which had been designed to boost service provision, stopping at the Ricoh Arena.

    They say delays caused by the fire mean there is no longer time to run and evaluate a pilot before the next local rail franchise is announced. 

    They add they will continue to discuss provision with manufacturer Vivarail and other suppliers to address a shortage of rolling stock.

    Supermarket Aldi has reported record Christmas trade after a 15% rise in December sales.

    The Atherstone-based firm said there was strong demand for its premium product range, launched to compete with higher-end retailers such as Waitrose and Marks and Spencer.

    About 50 laminated signs purporting to be from scorned lover "Linda" have been posted around Warwick town centre.

    The signs, which appeared over the weekend, tell a "Graham" he's been dumped, his car keys are in the canal, and his "cards maxed".

    The images have been shared widely over social media, with many of them supporting #TeamLinda.

    The printing company that made the posters for "Linda" said, external the signs were genuine and not a publicity stunt.

    A man from the Coventry area was one of two people who died in the crash on the M6 this morning, police say., external

    Efforts continue to identify the body of a female passenger who was found in the same burning car.

    The crash happened just before 01:50 on the southbound carriageway near to Corley Service Station.

    Detectives say they're working to inform families.

    Wasps director of rugby Dai Young joked about James Haskell's "outstanding" contribution after he lasted just 35 seconds on his return from injury.  

    Haskell, 31, made his first appearance since playing for England against Australia last summer as a replacement in Wasps' 22-16 win over Leicester.
